SPOLIER RANT**** So I made myself continue on with these books even though I knew I shouldn\’t have. I feel like these books have contradicted everything that had been setup previously in the previous books. She made us love characters from the first three books we spent three books making a strong connection with these characters only for her to turn around and contradict everything that we knew about them. We spent three books falling in love with Madison and Bishop only for her to turn the relationship into something so ugly she made us look at Madison is such a strong independent woman only for her to turn around and call her week numerous times in these books and to not only call her weak but to make her do weak things she is supposed to be the queen. There is so many things that happened in these last two books that I just could not come to ground with and the big big big one I\’m sure you know what I\’m talkin about I just could not set right with. And then at the end of the book for her to pull that out of her pocket an act like this was going to be there happily ever after and it was going to make up for everything no just no. I can honestly say that I will not be buying any more of the books because I cannot take it if she ruins another relationship that we have dedicated time and money into. I am not normally one to leave such a harsh review but I just could not hold my words back.

Review *Mild spoilers* This review encompasses all five books in the Elite Kings series. I was intrigued enough to keep on reading, so that’s why this is getting two stars instead of one. This review is for all of the books – I didn’t feel there was much difference between the h/Hs featured in books 1-3 versus 4-5. I am clearly in the minority, but I can’t figure out all the five star reviews. Seriously. The writing was OK but at times confusing as hell. Characters were jerks with very little redeeming qualities. Girls flip flopped quickly – traumatic things happened to them and they just forgave and moved on. Actually, everyone seemed to boomerang from one emotion to the opposite without much transition in between to show any progression from on to the other. It felt flaky. Another thing that become a pet peeve – almost every other page (sometimes every next page), the author was listing a song that was playing in the background and the artist. Noticeable and annoying. In book 3, the writing changed between present and past tense as well. A lot of reviewers touted this as dark romance – it didn’t really feel dark. She did a good job of world building and this had a lot of potential but fell short for me. There was the element of the secret society, drugs, sex, etc., but it didn’t feel truly dark romance. Additionally – the first three books are spent building a couple that is pretty much blown apart by book five. The author is doing something right because I kept reading but the whole time I questioned myself as to why I was continuing to do so, however, I do not think I will be reading the other books in these series. These belong in Kindle Unlimited and are overpriced and drawn out IMHO. If you’re really looking for dark, angsty secret society-ish teen romance, try the Elite 7. Each book is written by a different author, but the effort is spearheaded by Ker Dukey and K Webster who are QUEENS of this stuff.

Audiobook Malum: Part 2 (Elite King’s Club #5) by Amo Jones

The writing is beautiful, I love Nate and Tillie. The drama, and story, it was all great. For the most part, a continuation of what we loved from Bishops and Madis books…. HOWEVER. And this is why I dropped a star on my review…. honestly I almost dropped two. I really feel let down by the way Madison has been done. She was beautiful. Strong, capable, and smart. They were her Kings. I feel like she’s been completely tossed aside. Like Nate barely gives a crap about her, and the others are just so obsessed with Tillie now and Madi is being called weak and implied that she’s not as strong or as smart as Tillie. I don’t know… none of it is sitting right with me. I noticed it starting last book and I didn’t like it but this book had me skipping pages to try and get to Madison. I’m really annoyed and I’m not sure I’ll be grabbing the next book in this series.

Audio Malum: Part 2 (Elite King’s Club #5) narrated by Lucy Rivers Teddy Hamilton

I could not get enough of this book. After part 1 and the ending, I read part 2 in quick succession and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Amo Jones smashes my heart into splinters, then piece by piece she glues it back together. The mind is a powerful place, and I felt every emotion in this book. I cried, I crossed my legs in anticipation and I ranted and ranted to understand what on earth Nate and Tillie are playing at. I can not get enough of this dramatic couple. And Brantley….don\’t get me started on his sexy self. I\’m so glad we got to see a softer side of him, he isn\’t all dark and brooding. I do have a thing for the psychos but Brantley has a side to him that I\’m addicted to. He is a good friend along with lots of other amazing attributes. Tillie and Nate are the couple who will always disagree, because of their personalities but the ones who hate the most, love the hardest. Their love is one you can only dream about, or in this case, read about. True soulmates, and they come to realise that everything happens for a reason in the life of The Kings. I\’m furious at Madison, but time will tell with their story!
