Don’t know how to review this book. I would have given it five stars before I read the ending or should I say cliff hanger. I knew it was one of a series but didn’t realize I wouldn’t get a complete story in each book. I have shied away from authors using cliff hangers after the Hannah Ford fiasco of 25 books and counting. I stopped after 10 books even though I was reading them using Kindle Unlimited. I’ll admit that I didn’t check out the reviews of this book prior to reading it so the fault is mine. Now after reading them, am I the only one who thought the ending was totally out of the blue? I am planning to read book 2 just so I can see how the author explains this.

Thought the premise of the book was a bit stupid. Father and Grandfather know so much better than she does who she should marry, really? And even after the father spends his whole life unhappy, he wants the same for the daughter he is supposed to be so close to? Doesn’t pass the sniff test and neither does Kinsey. She’s a model and theater major but she can just walk into a business she knows nothing about running and put together a multi million dollar proposal in 20 minutes….sorry, too unrealistic and she needs to get a grip! Don’t care enough to read the next one and I don’t appreciate authors that have to end books on a cliffhanger to get business.

Kinsley was just too immature, boneless and clueless. I didn’t find her small acts of defiance convincing, and although the book ended with a major cliffhanger and lots of questions unanswered, it wasn’t enough for me to move to the next book in the series.

This review is written after listening to the audio version of this book

At the start of this book we meet Kinsley Felton, she’s hungover after a disastrous date the night before, a night when she behaved very unlike herself. Kinsley’s family own a string of hotels/casinos, she’s never lacked for money and has a loving relationship with her father and grandfather, a successful modelling career and is about to graduate from Yale in a few days.

After she graduates Kinsley will inherit the multi-billion dollar gaming and hospitality company started by her great-grandfather. But to do so, she must comply with all her family demands of her which includes marrying the man of their choice, the man chosen to run the Company. For the last five years, she’s had every decision made for her right down to which degree she would study so that shouldn’t be a problem. But when her Grandfather calls her and tells her that her father has died her life is about to change forever.

She returns home immediately and is told by her Grandfather that tomorrow she will meet the man chosen to be her husband and in six months they will marry. She’d always assumed she had more time before she had to give up her freedom. That night she goes to a casino to escape there she meets Killian, he’s handsome, sexy and wants nothing from her apart from that night. The chemistry between these two is intense and palpable but he holds back – why?

The next day she is introduced to the VP of Operations at the Company, the man she is expected to marry and it’s Killian. The sizzle between these two just keeps growing but she wants more than an arranged marriage, she wants love and she wants to be taken seriously within the company. As for Killian, he’s keeping secrets, secrets that will change the lives of all of them forever.

There is a lot more I could say, but I won’t because I hate spoilers, what I will say is that I could not stop listening to this story, I liked the way the characters developed and I was blown away by the surprising cliffhanger ending. I will now be listening to the next book in this series in the hope of finding some, if not all, of the answers!

The narration of this book by Keira Stevens is excellent, she hits just the right note for every character she greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the story.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book, but wow. I read this in 2 hours because I couldn’t put it down.

Kinsley Felton has had her life controlled by her father and grandfather for last 5 years. We don’t know why, but apparently something but happened where they don’t trust her decision making process.

Her father even called her at Yale every night to check in, she didn’t have the typical college experience. The one night she did go out and drink, her 21st birthday, she missed her Dad’s call and he died the following morning.

She comes back to Vegas to bury him and realizes that her father and grandfather picked a man for her to marry in 6 months. The night before she’s supposed to meet him, she goes to her family’s casino and plays cards like her dad taught her. That’s where she meets the hottest guy she ever saw. She spends the night with him without having sex and the following day she meets her new fiancee to be.

He’s the same guy from last night. But he doesn’t want to marry her, he just wants the CEO position that was promised to him by her father.

Kinsley doesn’t want to feel anything for Killian. He’s controlling, thinks she’s naive, and arrogant. But her body wants him.

Can she convince her grandfather to change course? Or is there something else to this arrangement?
