A nice twist at the end. To some viewers the ending is a quick compromise. But I like it. For a short like this the author couldn’t afford a gripping dilemma.

A very short, compact story. I liked the construction of the story, the main character and the overall plot. A colony ship arrives at it planetary destination but things are not okay. Taylor has written a great story.

Audiobook A Change of Plans by Cris Dukehart
I’m already a fan of the Bobiverse, so I have a bent perspective. This was an enjoyable fast read with a satisfying ending. Worth a buck.
I know it was only a short story, but I would have been less irritated by the incompetent crew if it didn’t feel like they were supposed to be the good guys. Maybe I’m just ruined by only books with happy endings.

I really enjoyed this short story. It moved quickly through a lot of surprises as a colony ship arrived at a dramatically changed destination. I thought I knew where it was going, but it surprised me in a very nice way. Thanks for an entertaining read.

Very competent writing for an amateur. Not too original idea, but very well executed. Characters start pretty stereotypical and underdeveloped even for a short story, but there is at least one surprise. Most importantly, it lacks the stilted dialog and cookie-cutter phrases so typical of amateur genre prose.
Al in all, an enjoyable lunch break read.
