Night Music

The story of a house and the lives of the people connected with it. The characters are amazing and full of real life. My favourite character is undoubtedly Asad, an elderly gay man who truly finds himself and his hidden strength. He’s a small character though. Jojo did an excellent job of making me fall in love with Byron, from the start with his almost sullen silences to where he also finds his own strength.

Jojo Moyes’ writing is a pleasure to feast my eyes upon. In chapter 24 the first three paragraphs start with a number and a list, and are beautiful to read.

It’s a beautiful book. I simultaneously did not want it to end and wanted to know what happened next.

This is the 5th book of Jojo Moyes I have really enjoyed.

There are 2 things that I want in a book. Firstly not wanting to put it down and not wanting the book to end all books have met the criteria.

I enjoyed this book, it was very different from the others I have read previously and did come short as one of the best but still I would recommend to others. Although the author is considered a romantic novelist the quality of her work is first class, engaging and ignites a depth of real understanding of the characters.

I have read 13 of her books so far and this is a Top 5 in my opinion. Looking forward to the next one of her books. Always a good read and have passed them on to others to enjoy and they have positive feedback to me.

Isobel is a gifted violinist, spoiled by her husband and two children, who have allowed her to live cocooned lost in her music.
A tragic accident forces her to drastically change from an ineffectual mother into a grown up and take charge of hers and her childrens’ lives. She inherits a dilapidated old mansion in the middle of nowhere and uprooting her family moves in. The local builder and close neighbour has coveted the mansion for years and pretending to be their friend in reality does all he can to make them leave, with disastrous consequences.

I have never written a review, but I felt I should for this book. I really enjoyed it. I was not sure if I would or not because of one of the reviews I read. It was a little irritating in the beginning, but the when she got to the little town it really picked up, and kept my interest. I loved the characters, I don’t think there were any boring characters, they were all worth having. I may not be expressing this well, but I really enjoyed the book.
