Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson come with a very serious topic in today’s world i.e the nurturing of a child. The mind of a child is like an empty vessel he learns by the behavior of his parents and the way they talk to him. Things which the parents want to teach their child should be taught appropriately otherwise a child’s mind usually repels such things. A person whose behavior is harsh towards the child can never inculcate anything in his mind. The child thinks of him as his enemy and his mind never pays attention to his advice or teachings.
NO-DRAMA DISCIPLINE audiobook free
To make a child well-disciplined first of all the parents have to be disciplined. Yelling and scolding is not the answer to anything, to instruct a child just tell him politely what to do. If he is not obeying then try to find out the reasons behind the word “No”. No matter what is the situation in the house the parents should not leave the patient. If the parents start becoming harsh the child will naturally become repulsive.
After these discussions, the author just like in The Whole-Brain Child and The Yes Brain starts telling us about our mistakes in the teaching discipline. In the end, there are proper suggestions to correct the mistakes which we make. Result or outcome is left up to us because it is we who have to adopt and follow the instruction. Instructions if not followed properly could have a zero impact on the child. Daniel has quoted some examples but they are for guidance purpose and that’s why are not in full story form.
