If you like Apocalypse Troll, or Into the Looking Glass, or even Dayton Wards the Last World War then you will love this book. Kinda has all of those elements and Currie found a way to make it all fresh and his own. Two out of the three mentioned books use a portal as the bases for an invasion, apocalypse troll has space and time travel, but The Infinity Affliction uses the invasion story in a unique way. Honestly its worth the read. Just wish it wasn’t shorter then his normal novels, hopefully he doesn’t make us wait long for the sequel.

I have to admit it, I was very happy to see a new Josh Dalzelle book. Imagine my disappointment when I find out in the forward that this is something he wrote long, long ago and drug forward to brush off and present to us as new. The writing was nowhere near as polished as his current works and the editing was not there. I rarely buy a book and not finish it… this one made it about four chapters. While I can’t rate Josh’s other works highly enough THIS one just wasn’t for me.

Audiobook The Infinity Affliction by Evan Currie
I confess. I wanted to give this a low star rating because I really wish Evan Currie would keep going with his awe inspiring Into the Black series. That’s an epic I really love. Loved. And I couldn’t finish any of his fantasy and superhero stories. So I was not expecting much with the Infinity Affliction. But I gotta admit, it was a great read. A bit all over the place (something else I hate) but Evan got even that to work in this brilliant and imaginative epic.

Audio The Infinity Affliction narrated by Shawn Compton
Breathlessly waiting for the continuation of his Empire/Odysseus saga, I purchased this story, confident in Evan’s skills in narrating a thrilling battle scene. My overweight kitty was equally excited.
Alas, this story let us down.
As mentioned in a prior review, the changing POV is confusing, the premise is nonsensical (mind you, sci-fi is nonsensical enough) and the interactions between the characters were as off as rancid butter.
I will continue to wait (kitty too) for the next installment of his Empire saga and brush this tepid attempt to the COVID pandemic. Evan is too good of a writer to let this stinker besmirch his reputation.

First, I like the authors previous books. This one has to many grammatical errors that it’s bring the story down. I am at about halfway through and will keep reading as the story is good, but errors like”,and honestly didn’t much of a damn. ” should have been edited.
