Im not really sure what I just finished reading. I realized this was a novella so I knew it would be a short story. It wasnt a bad book but it was unexpected. I wasnt prepared for this to be entirely about 2 high school kids over the period of months or a year and a half, not exactly sure of that either – part junior year then part senior – I think.
This was the first book I have read by this author. She was recommended to me and also popped up on a recommended reading list based on other books I have read. No one told me that it would be a YA and Im not sure if that was typical or if this was different from her usual books. Im fine with teens if we are going back to a period in the life or then going forward a few years but this seemed like it should have been for a young reader but not really Written for a young reader if that makes sense.
I have Kindle Unlimited and most of her books cost additional money so I wanted to see her writing style before investing more money. I really hate to read a bunch of reviews or a sample of the books I choose because it often spoils the book. I guess in this case I should have read further.
The book didnt really set up the characters, give any background, or give any depth to the 2 kids. I didnt really know Daniel or Six any better after I finished reading this. Too late, I found out this probably should have been read after another book. However one of the reviews I did read said this was a stand-alone love story so that was my approach.
Not sure if I will read the other books that are part of this ?series? Still dont know IF it actually is a series.

This was my second Colleen Hoover romance to read. My first was All Your Perfects, which was AMAZING, but it was also very heavy and left me with some pretty deep feelings of sadness.
Almost immediately after finishing All Your Perfects, I downloaded and started reading Finding Cinderella. This is a novella as opposed to a novel, so it was a very quick and easy read.
I didnt know much going into it and I think that was for the best, so Im not going to give away much of the plot here (this is becoming a pattern for Colleen Hoovers books). The story begins with a high school student named Daniel who, due to a scheduling glitch, spends 5th period every day alone in a maintenance closet. One fateful day, his solitude is interrupted when his own personal Cinderella quite literally falls into his lap and he becomes her Prince Charming. Thats it. Thats all anyone needs to know before going into this fun, heart-warming story.
I loved everything about this book. The characters are so quirky and real. Im 35 now, but my 17-year-old self would have had a major character crush on Daniel. Hes funny and outgoing, but he has a heart of gold. I would have wanted to be best friends with Six, who is the independent, low-maintenance, down-for-anything female lead. I also really enjoyed the friendship between Daniel and Holder and am excited to see more of them in Hopeless which, technically, I should have read before this one, but I wasnt aware of that at the time and it all worked out fine.
Again, this is a novella, so the pacing is pretty quick. There isnt a lot of time to delve into backstory or too much of Daniels thoughts. Most of the book is dialogue and action not in a shootouts-and-car-chases kind of way, but in a high school romance kind of way. The overall tone is light and fun I smiled and laughed my way through almost the entire thing. There are a couple of twists. One of them literally made me squeal out loud in my bedroom, BUT. I would not have caught this twist had I not already read All Your Perfects. That being said, having read AYP is not a requirement in order to enjoy this book.
The only complaint I have about Finding Cinderella is that, at times, Daniels speech and especially his monologues with his significant other make him sound 25 instead of 17-ish. It was just off enough to make me raise an eyebrow and pull me out of the story briefly, but not enough to take away an entire star from the rating.

Audiobook Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) by Colleen Hoover
Ugh. I love the opening of this book–well, novella. Even though it is a 2.5 coming after the “Hopeless” duo, it can stand on its own. There is only a little portion at the end that might confuse people who have not read Hopeless or Losing Hope, but not much.
I just attended a Colleen Hoover book signing event, and I needed to read a book of hers immediately. Just needed to. If you ever attend one of her signings, you’ll understand. She is magnetic and she makes you want to go home and binge them all!
This was the first one I picked up. I don’t know why. It was there and available and an easy read. And that beginning chapter/prologue, shoot, it had me.
The story is simple and sweet and addicting–as CoHo’s book typically are. It left me both fulfilled and wanting more simutaneously. I could read an entire series on Daniel and Six. For real. But at the same time, I loved where they ended up.

Audio Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) narrated by Jason Carpenter
Gah, the way I love Daniel and his entire family. I imagine being around a family like his would be hilarious. Theyre fun just like him. I love his sense of humour and I love how fiercely protective he is of those he loves and what he would do to stop them for being hurt. Hes an amazing guy and hes no idea hes about to meet his perfect match.
Six, oh this girl stole my heart. I forgot how much I loved her as a person. Shes smart, beautiful and so strong. Having gone through what she did and having to make those kind of decisions at such a young age and still being the amazing woman that she is, is amazing.
I absolutely love Daniel and Six story and re-reading it has been a breath of fresh air. Theyre cute and quirky and just fit together perfectly and I love it so much!
Finding Cinderella is a book about second chances and forgiveness. Its about finding that someone special and knowing its a forever kind of love from the very first meeting.
This was one of the first books Ive read of Colleens that made me completely fall in love with her writing and her books.

This has been on my TBR since around the start of the year. Thats when I first read Hopeless by Colleen and completely fell for her writing style and characters. I quickly devoured the book and moved onto Losing Hope straight after. Since then Ive read Slammed, Maybe Someday and I was incredibly fortunate to be sent a copy of Ugly Love and to take part in the review tour for it!
This short novella, which is 130 pages, follows Hopeless/Losing Hope supporting character Daniel Wesley. Daniel is Holders best friend and weve already seen a little glimpse of him in those first two books, but if Im honest when I got to reading this book Id actually forgotten what he was like so this was like discovering a new character all over again.
The story is all in Daniels POV which I love. Colleen seems to just nail the guys perspective in all of her stories and it just seems so realistic and true to what you can imagine the guy would be thinking. Its no different with Daniel and I love just how much of a cheeky, flirty, fun guy he is.
The story is called Finding Cinderella for a reason and a heavy signifigance to the start of the story where Daniel meets his Cinderella in a maintenance closet but both of them remain anonymous in an attempt not to ruin the magic of their little secret relationship. I love the whole fairytale element there was to the start of the story and its exactly the kind of thing you can see happening to Daniel.
Sky and Dean are back in this novella and so is Six, Skys best friend. In what is probably quite a predictable plot line Daniel and Six hit it off in a big way. I loved their fun and flirtatious relationship and I loved that Daniel seems to have met his match in Six. The story starts out fun and fresh after the seriousness of Hopeless and Losing Hope but has a few more twists for the characters and a completely emotional journey towards the end of the story.
If you love Colleen Hoover you will definitely enjoy this short story, the only problem was it was too short!
