This author won me over when I discovered her book titles were taken from classic songs. Whenever I read her books, I know I’ll get a fun, light-hearted romance with a side of steam, but Morland has bested herself phenomenally with the first book in The Flower Shop Sisters Series! Floral puns, euphemisms and innuendo aside, this book is just so much MORE. I’m a bit over the well-used virgin trope, but Morland had me eating out of her hand with Dani and Jacob\’s frenemies to lovers romance with a nod to the Capulets and the Montagues. Since he first moved to town when they were five years old, Jacob West has been off limits to Dandelion Wright. His parents had the nerve to come to town and open a florist shop in direct competition to her family’s Buds and Blooms. In spite of the warnings, they became friends in kindergarten. As years went by they weren’t always joined at the hip, but when he did the unforgivable and stood her up for prom, Dani learned an important lesson: people will always let you down. But now Jacob has returned home, and all those old feelings start sprouting back up like dandelions in spring. This book was so fantastic to read in so many ways. An excellent start to a wonderful new series, I wanted to hang out at Buds and Blooms and try my hand at flower arranging. All of the characters are so earthy and endearing, but Dani may just be my new favorite heroine. A smart, talented, accomplished, everyday girl who doesn’t realize her own beauty, it was easy to appreciate her and be drawn into the story told from her point of view. I adore her sass, sarcasm, self-deprecation and clever sense of humor. It\’s often difficult to connect with a hero when the story isn’t told from his POV, but Morland did a great job humanizing Jacob and endearing him to me. It was easy to see clear to the heart of him and I desperately wanted Jacob and Dani together. But a book would be no fun without conflict, and I enjoyed every minute as they found their way through to forever. If you’ve never read this author, you’re really missing out, and this is the perfect book to introduce you to Morland\’s work. She strikes the perfect balance with this one, following an evocative, emotional scene with a punch of humor to cement all the wonderful feelings she\’s elicited in the reader and carry her through to the next emotional high. Spontaneous and sassy, heated and humorous, and touching and heart felt, this one has something to leave every romantic heart with a happy sigh but still wanting more from these amazing characters. *I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.

Petal Plucker audiobook in series Flower Shop Sisters
Title: Petal Plucker Series: The Flower Shop Sisters Series Author: Iris Morland Designation: Book 1 of Series, Full-Length (200 pages), Standalone, No Cliffhanger #romantic comedy #secondchanceromance #friendstoenemiestolovers My Rating: Five Outrageously Cute Stars***** OMG, I loved, loved, loved this book so hard! I snickered, snorted, snuffled, sniffled, raged, fumed, cackled, giggled, and outright belly-laughed through the entire story. Pardon the pun, but Petal Plucker was the perfect bouquet of snark, wit, humor, angst, steam, and sweet, sweet romance! The narrative was beautifully written in the first person with a primary perspective from our quirky, spitfire heroine, Dandelion \’Dani\’ Wright, florist extraordinaire and current managing owner of her family\’s florist shop, Buds and Blossoms. But the cherry on top of my \’perfect sundae read\’ was the epilogue from the hero, Jacob West, childhood friend, high school crush, son of her family\’s competitor, and the man who broke her heart nearly 10 years ago when he stood her up for prom. I generally prefer narratives with alternating his and her perspectives, especially contemporary romantic comedies, but Morland\’s execution was skillful and absolutely perfect for this story. Believe me; I don\’t throw the word perfect out there very often, but everything about this book was perfect, at least for me – perfectly balanced elements of everything I adore in romantic comedies – humor, heat, and heart, with a side of snappy banter, a wonderfully quirky cast, heart-wrenching angst, and steamy, sexy times for our virginal Dandelion (yes, Dani was a 26-year-old virgin) – and this story had it all, in spades, or maybe I should say in dandelions! Because there were dandelions! Petal Pluckers is a sweet, sensual, and totally captivating \’childhood friends to enemies to lovers\’ second chance romance romp and the perfect, feel-good weekend respite! It\’s also the outrageously adorable first release in a brand new series from Author Iris Morland featuring the three Wright Sisters, Dani (Dandelion), Mari (Marigold), and Kate. Oops, no flower name? That\’s right and there\’s a reason, but you\’ll just have to read the book – though Kate actually was an oopsie baby, but that\’s not really the reason! lol… No spoilers from me, except to say Dani and Jacob were a perfect couple, once they got past all the hurdles standing in their way! There\’s that word again – perfect, but what can I say, if the flower fits the occasion, use it in multiples! lol… So, did I like this book? I think I\’ve already expressed myself adequately but to eliminate any doubt – I didn\’t like it; I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language and dreamy sex. (Go Dandelion! Slight Spoiler: Dandelion was deflowered and plucked – exceedingly well – but never fear, no flowers were harmed in the writing of this book! lol…) Will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! This was my first time reading the work of Iris Morland, but it certainly won\’t be my last! I can hardly wait for the next book of this series! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I devoured this book in one sitting on a Sunday afternoon. Once I started reading, I simply couldn\’t stop! The hours melted away while the pages flew as I cheered for Jacob and Dani, laughing nonstop at the antics of them and their families. What a hoot! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Audiobook Petal Plucker by Iris Morland
A book with bad language is a book I won’t read. After three pages I quit. There are many ways to tell a great story and get a point across without fowl language!!!

Audio Petal Plucker narrated by Samantha Brentmoor
OMG This book gives a whole new meaning to steamy!!! While yes it does have a few explicit scenes it also has an amazing love story that develops at a kind of quick pace. I don\’t normally read books like this but hey sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I found myself blushing A LOT!! I love the story, the romance could have had a bit more, I felt like it was just \”hey how are you doing? Ok let\’s have sex.\” I would have like the characters to develop more. I do have to say that my favorite character is her best friend (though shes not in the book as much as I would have liked). At times I felt like it just from one scene to the next without warning. I do have to say that this book is better than 50 Shades of Grey in the steamy aspect! I can\’t wait for the next one, I look forward to see what happens. I gave this book ???.5 overall. Steamy wise I gave it a ????.5.

Just okay. Took too long for the story to get going. Although well written it didn’t grab my attention. Characters felt like teenagers rather than adults.
