Play Dead audiobook free

I view Andy Carpenter books like a desert in my reading – easy to follow, fairly uncomplicated plots, humorous characters and situations, and the main Character’s living a a ‘dream life’. All the money he will ever need, a perfect spouse, great investigators available at his beck & call, trustworthy contacts with police and news media, and a love for dogs, especially a certain breed. Within this fantasy life there exists rich and humorous ‘male banter’, lots of fun and definitely the typical chilly – scary, and sometimes terrifying moments as justice and fairness is sought when murder happens.

Play Dead audiobook in series Carpenter Series

This is another great story…funny, endearing, somewhat suspenseful, funny (his sense of humor is why I read his books). You can’t go wrong, buy the book. I’ve cheated many times and read the library versions, but this one wasn’t in stock. It was well worth the few bucks I paid for it. Sadly, he won’t get rich off me, so I’m suggesting you step up and fork out some dough….it’s so worth it!!!!

Audiobook Play Dead by David Rosenfelt

Found this book on a list librarians made for summer reading. Never heard of it. Got the first book and am hooked. The lead character is a lawyer who has a hilarious (in my opinion) sense of humor. The characters are all different, the stories clever, and thank goodness the guy has written 24 books! Im waiting for book #5 to hopefully arrive today.

I love this series. Andy Carpenter is my vision of most men: lazy, thinks about sex all the time, sarcastic, and views himself as some kind of comedian. His redeeming quality is his love for dogs. It took me a book or two to get used to him. I do not find him lovable. However, he’s honest and does try his best for his clients. Stories are engaging and well paced. Give the series a chance.

Audio Play Dead narrated by Grover Gardner

Everybody needs to read David Rosenfelt books particularly to Andy Carpenter series. Be sure and start with the first book and read your way through them though because they do follow as far as character development and if you’re like me you want to know how that progresses. I also love that David Rosenfelt practices what he write as far as his love for rescuing animals. Keep up the good work Mr. Rosenfelt

I have read this series –Andy Carpenter– from the beginning book. I recently discovered it and what a find! Great mysteries but (and a big but) it is the characters and the dialogue that make them a total joy. Read any of them or do it like I am and start at beginning. I cannot recommend them more highly and have done so to friends and they agree.

The entire plot of this novel hinges on the actions of a golden retriever, Andy Carpenter’s favorite breed of dog. Andy, celebrity lawyer and frequent talk show panelist, gets his publicity in this book first for defending a dog in court, and then for defending its owner, a convicted murderer, on appeal.

This book breaks away significantly from the usual formula in the Andy Carpenter novels. I won’t say how, in case you’re following the series avidly as I am. Play Dead is not just a legal thriller, but a also political thriller complete with conspiracies and cover ups.

High-powered rifles play a part, people get killed, and Andy himself, usually totally cowardly and ineffective in any violent confrontation, becomes momentarily an action hero. He also does quite well in a couple of sticky conversations with a mob boss.

The courtroom scenes are good, with flashes of humor, but the scenes outside the courtroom are even more dramatic. Forensics and computer hacking yield amazing discoveries for the defense.

The writing is often outrageously funny and sometimes touching. I’m not much of a dog person, but I loved this book.
