Pretty Pink Ribbons (A Touch of Fate #2)

This was the first book by K.L. Grayson that I have read and I immediately went back to Kindle Unlimited and borrowed Where We Belong, which is also in this series. I wasn’t aware, or just didn’t pay attention (that’s probably it!!) that Pretty Pink Ribbons was book #2 in the Touch of Fate series, but I wasn’t lost at all in anything. So this book can definitely be written as a standalone!

K.L. Grayson tugged at my heartstrings in Pretty Pink Ribbons. This book was fantastic! I’m pretty sure I bought it without even thinking about it after reading that my sister in law recommended it on Facebook. When I went back to the Amazon page, I saw that I purchased it in April of 2018, and I didn’t start it until December 27th, 2018. BIG thanks to a 6-hour car ride from my Grandparents to my home, I was able to get a lot of it read in that time period, however, it was the next day that I actually finished it!

The love that Laney and Levi had for each other poured through every page. I’ve never known anyone that I’m close to being affected by this disease, but you could feel how emotional it becomes battling, not only for the one who is affected but also for those that love her and are close to her.

I loved the characters in this book. Relatable, funny, serious, full of friendship, bickering, etc. Super happy I chose this book to read! Pretty Pink Ribbons got a new fan of K.L. Grayson in me!

I really liked Levi in the first book of the series. He certainly had his flaws but overall he was an amazing supporter for Harley and really stepped up for her. To learn he had a woman who had stollen his heart when he was younger help me better understand him from book 1. He was a man-whore who never planned to settle down. When the love of his life comes back to town to profess her undying love for him, he struggles with his emotions and fears of falling for her again. As they slowly build there love and trust for each other all over again Levi learns that she, Laney, is battling for her life in the fight against cancer.
There are some good smexy sex scenes. Levi is quit the alpha male. It’s also written in dual POV.
I felt the book ended a little abruptly and wished it had continued a little further before the final epilogue. I was also hoping for the bucket list to be completed but that was ok.

PRETTY PINK RIBBONS seriously gutted me. This is the 2nd book in the Touch of Fate series books. While PRETTY PINK RIBBONS could be a standalone, I highly recommend reading WHERE WE BELONG first. I just have to say KL Grayson is hands down one of the best second chance romance writers that I have read in a LONG time. This book is seriously emotionally charged. I fell in love with Levi from WHERE WE BELONG and even more after finishing this book. I absolutely love Laney for what she represents who she is as a whole. I dont want to spoil anything but want to say that I seriously balled my eyes out throughout this book for many reasons. This is a story of friendship, forgiveness, understanding and ultimately of love. No regrets, moving forward, living your life to the fullest and going after what you want most in life play a huge role in PRETTY PINK RIBBONS. I seriously cannot wait to see where she takes the rest of the characters she has introduced in her books. PRETTY PINK RIBBONS is a wonderful book, and you wont be disappointed when you pick it up. I just recommend having a box of tissues on standby.

After reading “Where We Belong” I wanted to know Levi’s story and see who had broke his heart so bad. But like all stories, there is always two sides. I think both Levi and Laney had a hand in the break up. I really liked these two as a couple. My heart went out to Laney and everything she was going through. I had a few times where I was reading through tears, I have a sister who is a two time breast cancer survivor, so this book hit me hard. There were a couple of things Levi did that I didn’t really like: 1) Taking so long to tell Laney that he loved her -what the heck! 2) Asking Laney how many men she had been with in the eight years they were apart, when he was the biggest man who#e for the last eight years. But other than those things I liked Levi and thought he was very caring and sweet with Laney. I also liked that he helped her with her bucket list. Good Book!

This was a really great book. I loved Harley and Tyson’s story and I love Laney and Levi’s story as well. Laney and Levi were in love while in college. Laney is given the opportunity to study across the country in California at the Culinary Art Institute. She loves to cook and this is her dream. She is excited about the opportunity and knows that she and Levi will have to work hard but they will find a way. When Levi finds out, he freaks out and gives her an ultimatum – either she stays with him or goes to school and they are over. Eight years later, Laney returns home and she has never stopped loving Levi.

Laney has always loved Levi and she has missed her greatly through the years. She has cancer and she wants to return home to her family and friends and her love Levi. She’s been battling with her friend Mia but she wants to be home to go through chemo. She has immense guilt about ending things with Levi and she wishes she could go back in time. She just wants to have him in her life any way that she can.

Levi is successful in the restaurant business and he has great friends. But in love and relationships, he doesn’t take part in it. He loved one girl his whole life and he hasn’t gotten his heart back from her yet. He messes around with women and all but he doesn’t date more than once with the same woman. Laney coming back into his life throws him off balance. He doesn’t know if he can trust her again or open his heart up again.

Definitely worth reading.
