RED RISING

The Red Rising was written by Pierce Brown in 2014. The story focuses on having different houses or society and it highlights the injustice of the brutal society’s ruling class where low class are being betrayed by those who are above them. 

The main character was a 16 year old worker whose life was nothing but hardships. He belongs to the lowest social class since he didn’t receive proper education, he is a miner who like his class doesn’t have much idea in everything. Darrow was his name, he works all day for the future generation with his fellow Red.

They are nothing more than slaves. He is willing to sacrifice everything, even if bringing down his enemies means becoming one of them, he would do it for the better world in the future. He had all this courage after finding out that they have been deceived and that humanity set foot on the surface generations ago unknowingly.  

Red Rising is a compelling story, the characters are easy to adopt because we are already put in the same setting in this society as they do. Among all of the characters, Darrow has shown great personality given all the hardships he faced and despite living his entire life underground, he is proud. 

You would absolutely love the story of Darrow and how he managed to build a strong character by himself.
