I really enjoyed the first of this series. Though it\’s based on some sci-fi litRPG tropes that I\’ve encountered multiple places, the author manages to make it enjoyable and unexpected. That continued with book two, with a vengeance. The whole \”time-travel-reset-to-the-beginning\” mechanic made both the protagonist as well as me the reader feel like we knew what was going to happen, and had some sort of control, and then it ALL went off the rails in new and creative ways. I appreciate especially the depth of thought put into the various alien cultures, and how they can be fundamentally strange to humans with our own assumptions. My one possible complaint would be there were multiple opportunities for the MC to level up or use skills the \”game\” gave him that he seemed blind to, which I can understand somewhat being in the thick of crazyness, but a big deal was made at the beginning about how his experience playing games made him seem especially suited to the environment/challenges, and that doesn\’t necessarily show in this case. Regardless, I enjoyed it immensely, and will wait impatiently for the third installment.

I really wanted to like this book. The first story was very good but this one just left me wanting to get to the end so it would be over. I won\’t be buying book 3.

Loved book one, love this one too. Only drawback is the amount of time I have to wait for the next book!

The story built off of book one and was alot of fun. I only regret that magic was not utilized enough. I was as though Adam forgot he could use it most of the time. That did not detract from the plot. I can\’t wait for book three.

New Review: This series seems to be in hiatus and the author did not wrap up the story. (Has published 3 books of a new series and it has been over a year since he has published anything for this one.) I\’ll amend this review, again, if the author comes back and finishes this series. Previous Review: Much like my first review of the first book in this series, the author is doing a great job keeping me hooked! The story picks up right where the last book left off. Our MC gets another chance to restart and fix the error of his ways, or so he thinks. But starting over apparently cost him more than he or his allies might have expected. Great world-building and action. Also, the author appears to be laying the foundation for relationships; will our hero choose to pursue the good doctor or a fellow warrior? I\’m looking forward to the next book and encourage readers to pick this one up. (And, if you were to look for my other reviews, I\’m pretty free with criticism when books do a poor job.)
