Restless Slumber (Fortuna Sworn #2)

When I say unexpected turn I don\’t mean the good kind. At least not in my opinion there is a part that has a darker writing style then the rest of the book. And I know you maybe thinking \”well this is a paranormal read\” but it could possibly be triggering for some it crosses a thin line of consent. And brings in an uncomfortable element that I feel it could have done without, and still been a great book. I can honestly say it kind of took me by surprise since I read the first book. And that\’s why I wanted to write this review, the rest of the book was still a good read. It just leaves me a little unsure about what lines could possibly be crossed in the third book that I could do without.

The first book was a bit grim at times but not deeply dark. The concept was very intriguing though a little roughly done. This second installment had interesting continuations though I must admit some of the plot lines are being drug out past a readers or listener’s patience. It was going along okay but then took a supremely dark turn. Not sure if I want to go on to book three or not. Readers have to trust authors with their mind and imagination.

After reading and LOVING the 1st book, I was so excited to start on the 2nd. The author kept the same fast paced, unique story line…no extra fluff! Every situation came together perfectly! As before, the narrator did such an amazing job! Shannon Frugard

I really enjoyed this series. The way Fortuna grows into her relationship is a perfect steady uphill battle. Can’t wait for book 3! I already preordered it!
