This is Beautiful

I can’t believe that it’s REALLY over! Not only is it the conclusion of Logan and Kayla’s heartbreaking love story, it’s the end of one of the most highly addictive series that I’ve read. I fell in love with these lovable characters and their stories from the very first Checkmate duet. Even though it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to these characters, I felt that This is Beautiful was the perfect ending to this unforgettable series. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this series enough, this book proves once again why I love Kennedy Fox books! This amazing writing duo never seizes to amaze me with their flawless writing and colorful cast of characters. The Kennedy Fox duo are such talented storytellers whose books keep getting better and better. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite because I love them all. But I feel that these books have something that every reader can enjoy and relate to.
In this book, the story picks up right after the major cliffhanger in This is Dangerous. Eventually we find out that the accident in the last book had caused Kayla to lose her memory of the last two years. Thus forgetting her relationship with Logan. Now it’s up to Logan to help Kayla regain the memories and life that they had once shared. Not mention the unanswered questions and events from the last book are finally answered. One of things that I loved most about this book was in not knowing what would happen next. There were so many moments throughout the book that I thought I knew or understood what was going to happen. But only to be taken by surprise by things I definitely didn’t expect. Furthermore this book was quite an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. Logan and Kayla’s journey was so compelling and heartfelt that I didn’t want their story to end.
This is Beautiful encompassed everything I love about these authors’ books. My heart truly went out for these characters whose stories have captivated and entertained me from the very beginning. I cannot recommend this series enough! It’s a definite must read series that will have you hooked from the first page to the last!

What a sweet conclusion to the Checkmate series! Checkmate: This is Beautiful is book 2 in Logan and Kayla’s story and should only be read after Checkmate: This is Dangerous.

The book picks up right where the last one left off and your heart will hurt all over again with this painful reminder of how book 1 ended. Of all the Checkmate books, I felt like this one was the most real in it’s emotions. You can easily imagine yourself in both Logan or Kayla’s position and how incredibly difficult it would be to navigate. Some very interesting questions about relationships are posed and what it means to truly love someone versus a strong physical connection. Can you fall in love with the same person without the shared history and memories? Or is love enough to begin again?

I liked that there wasn’t a big mystery to solve and that the focus of the story was on Logan and Kayla’s relationship itself. Yes, there’s a little other woman/man drama thrown in for good measure and some of the story seemed drawn out, but overall, the book answers all your lingering questions from This is Dangerous and the angst is between our hero and heroine. Toss in some sinfully sexy times (mmm….. donuts) and this made for an amazing second chance love story. Honestly, I will NEVER look at donuts the same way again!

The ending and epilogue were perfect and such a wonderful way to bring things full circle. I think Logan is now the winner of the Checkmate book boyfriends. He really was incredible and his chapters were especially touching and heartfelt. Seeing this softer and more vulnerable side to him was amazing. It’s bittersweet that the series is over, but I’m glad we’re not saying good bye to the Checkmate world. Courtney’s brothers will be the focus of the next series titled Bishop Boys and I can’t wait to see what mischief Kennedy Fox has in store for us!

OMG…Going into this book I wasn’t sure if my heart was going to be able to handle it. The first book ended in such a gut wrenching moment that left me needing to know more info stat. When I finally got my hands on the second book of Logan and Kayla’s story I was so anxious to start reading it. Kennedy Fox has definitely left me an emotional wreck. I went from tears, to happiness to tears and also almost wanting to hurt Logan (I said almost). I held my breathe throughout the book and my heart literally broke for both Logan and Kayla. You just wanted to reach into the book and give them both big squeezes.

I don’t even really know where to begin without telling you what happens in the book. Ultimately it comes down to faith and love. Will Logan and Kayla be able to survive and overcome the obstacles that have been placed in their path? As much as this book had me on an emotional rollercoaster it was a ride well worth ridden. An absolutely perfect ending the book and series. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS SERIES IS OVER! Cue the tears…

This was THE PERFECT ending to Kayla and Logan’s story! GAH! I just felt SO many emotions with this couple from start to finish, at times I seriously could not breathe. That’s Kennedy Fox for you huh?!

This was the final chapter in the Checkmate Duet Series and everything I felt from Kayla and Logan was just the entire series TEN FOLD! Basically I was eating, sleeping, and breathing donuts and dogs until I finished this book. It seriously could not have been more of a perfect ending.

Kennedy Fox deserves the world for this series. From the start to the end, they did nothing but deliver. That alone, just put the cherry on top of Kayla and Logan’s story.

Ok from part one to the second final part! I must say it picked up comparing to the 1st book but I was a bit disappointed of the idea of what happened to Kayla- memory loss? Like really? Typical soap opera thing!!! And one question I didn’t get an answer to was why the heck she was pushed by the dealer’s son in the 1st place??? No answer to that grrrr…

But hey! Let’s keep going… I love and hated the idea of it and what it did to Logan and Kayla’s love. It wasn’t typical ok give us time and we fell in love exactly same way as the first time it was bit different… as I said somehow Logan and Kyla weren’t least favourite from the checkmate’s duets but this 1st date kiss !! Omfg so sexy!!!

Loved it! My favourite part of this book!!

It was well written, lots of warmth, humour and sadness some good twists and some other which u knew they will be coming but in the end lovely book solid 4 stars!
