Siren in the City (Texas Sirens #2)

This was book 2 in the “Texas Siren” series. This book picks up six months after Jack was shot by the crazy old lady Ruby Ecohls who blamed Abby for the cause of her son’s death. Jack is having a problem letting go of what happened to him and the need to keep Abby and Sam safe and he has began pushing them away. He also hasn’t taken things further with Sam like he wants too. Abby and Sam have had enough when Jack leaves them a note saying that he left to take care of some business and would be gone a day they are both angry and decide to go and be naughty after going on a shopping spree and buying a Ducati. Sam takes Abby to The Club although he didn’t think it was a good idea Sam isn’t a Dom he is a sub. When Jack goes to meet with Julian he finds out that his half-brother Lucas Cameron is blackmailing him and Julian threating to out them for money his father who is a Senator who refuse to pay Lucas so he comes for Jack. I didn’t like his campaign manager Slater and when Big Tag picked up Lucas from the airport Lucas got and earful and someone tried to run them off the road. While in the playroom Sam and Abby get in some trouble after Julian’s female slave offer to go down on Abby this was after she was turned down by Sam and Jack and Abby told her off. When a fight breaks out Julian and Jack come to the rescue and Jack finds out what his wayward subs have been up to and it breaks him out of his funk when he realizes that he has been neglecting their needs. Leo who is the resident Dom demands that Jack punish his slaves in public and Julian agrees but he also spanks Abby and makes her cum in front of everyone. Julian also demands that he whip them both or lose his membership. This was a really good read and I liked it better than the first book in this series. Jack gets jealous because he knows that Leo wants Abby and Julian wants Sam. Slater who is using Julian’s male sub Jeremy to drug Lucas the night before tries again while Lucas is giving aftercare to Abby while he is whipping Sam Abby knows that something isn’t right so when Lucas refuses Slater makes his move after Abby tells Lucas that he thinks he was drugged. Jack tries to pull away from them after everything comes out but Sam isn’t having it and when he tells Jack that he is leaving Jack snaps and the three of them have some hot sex. This was a good read Jack realizes that Lucas needs him so he offers to help him and Lucas agrees. The trio also gets a surprise. This book was well written the narrators were really good. I love this series and I hope that Ms. Blake adds more books.

Siren In The City is the second book in the Texas Sirens series and I loved it just as much as I did when I read the original version years ago. This is an updated version and I love the new scenes they just make a book that I originally loved that much better. I am so glad that Ms. Blake is revamping this series with a fresh new look. Make sure you read the previous book before starting Siren In The City because this cant be read as a standalone.

I loved getting more of Jack, Abby & Sam. After the last book, you cant help but want more of these three. This one is a bit more serious than the previous book though. Jack has not dealt with what happened to him very well, hes pulled away from Sam and Abby. He doesnt realize how much that has hurt the two people who love him and who he loves. He gets a much needed wakeup call after being called back by his old friend and mentor, and he also gets a few surprises as well, and just good ones either. Abby and Sam want their Jack back, but Sam is feeling the distance the most, he doesnt know if Jack will ever love him the way he wants him too and it is cause sweet funny Sam to hurt. Abby wants to push Jacks buttons and oh her and Sam definitely do and earn some punishments as well. Add into the equation that Jack is also having to deal with a black-mail attempt by his younger half-brother and Jack has his hands full for sure.

This one is just as erotic as the previous book maybe even more so. I love mnage books, I love it when it also includes BDSM and it is well balanced. Siren In The City is all of those things and more. I also loved seeing how a certain favorite company is part of this and introduces us to some other favorite Doms in another series. I am loving rediscovering this series. I cant wait for the next book because I want to read more of this series as soon as I possibly can.

Mischief is afoot and Sam and Abby are in the the thick of it. When Jack disappears leaving nothing but a note by way of explanation, the two trouble makers set off to shake things up. Boy, howdy do they ever! Trouble abounds in the form of blackmail schemes, an unexpected relative, a dungeon fight and a brush with the mafia. In the midst of all this Sam and Abby grab Jack’s attention and he finally accepts his all encompassing love for them both and his need for dominance over them.

It was so delightful to get a first glimple of Ian Taggert, Adam Miles and Jake Dean. We learn how McKay-Taggert got their start and their funding. Great tie-in with Masters and Mercenaries. Lexi Blake ranks as one of the two best authors I’ve ever read ( the other being Shayla Black her oft times writing collaborator and partner in crime.)

Jack and Sam are irresistible. Abby doesn’t try, she loves both of them and that fits in with their own long-term plans. The more we get to know these folks the better we like them. Even though our heroes are equal partners, Jack is the boss, Sam is the clown and Abby is the sweet, funny center of their world. On their wedding day Abby is ambushed and Jack takes a bullet meant for her. Her nurse’s training saves his life. Readers can spot PTSD before our protagonists; they are too close to the problem. Jack goes to The Club where both men had received support, guidance and training from the inscrutable Julian. This time however it’s a complex plot with Jack’s wastrel (though legitimate), younger brother Lucas promising newer bigger problems. BTW, terror roils, it doesn’t roll. Jack’s family grows.

Abby is now married to Jack and Sam, but married life isnt all that it should be. Not only is Jack holding back, but his past is catching up with him. When Sam and Abby follow Jack to the city, will they be successful in breaking down Jacks defences to regain the harmony in their relationship?
I read this book straight after Small Town Siren and what a story. It made such an impact that it is still with me days later. I cant wait to read the next in the series.
