Chicago’s official wizard’s life just remains in trouble all the time although the wizard has no personal issues his promises made in the past are a problem. A normal happy life is not the fate of Harry Dresden no matter how much he tries. He has been lucky in the past but his luck is slowly running out and he thinks he has used it all up in his previous adventures associated with saving mankind. Dresden has worked for the government department many times for his livelihood and for the protection of different races that co-exist on the earth now. He has seen vampires and monsters of all kinds and has survived their deadly fangs too.

Jim Butcher gives Harry a quiet time at the start of this novel and it appears that the life of the wizard has become peaceful finally. Soon a promise made in the past calls Harry back to the battlefield. He is needed by the Queen of Air and Darkness as he had a promise which he had to fulfill at any cost. Harry is not terrified of the task at first because this allows him to get rid of the debt forever.
Then he meets his ally after whom the terror just keeps on creeping his mind more and more. Peace Talks and Storm Front weren’t this slow in the beginning, this novel works on two gears. First, we observe the slow gear in which the story hardly moves forward and then the next gear just gives the pace to narrator James Marsters voice too. Like the rest of the nine books, this book has comedy on most parts which serves as a delight.
