1. Dog Days of Summer I found the misunderstanding at the beginning, when neither of them is aware of who the other really is, really funny. Not credible, but funny 😛 And I enjoyed how non-plussed was Beau about Patrick being on a wheelchair. But I wasn\’t thrilled about the conflict in this story, and I didn\’t fell for the characters. Except for Pepper. I LOVE Pepper 😀 2. Like Cats and Dogs I really didn\’t like any of the characters at the beginning. Ronan\’s attitude toward Oliver seemed childish and petty. And Oliver was arrogant and full of himself, throwing his suggestions around, without any respect for those on charge. And the way their relationship moves ahead is… a bit unhealthy, at the very best. But once they get together, they are rather sweet, so there is that 😛 3. Cat\’s Got My Tongue This was really, really good. The subject the bullying and its consequences is done with respect. And the story manages to be humorous (seriously, River attempts to apologize using her sister\’s cat are hilarious) while still hitting the right emotional chords. This is a story in which the traditional roles of alphas and omegas are also subverted, River is an omega who ran with the alpha\’s crowd, and joined in their bullying. Weston is an unusual alpha, most interested in animals and his studies than sports, and that gets him singled-out and the victim of cruel jokes. The pace of the story is right, the relationship between these two advances slowly and carefully. A lovely story. 4. Cat and Mouse A wonderful romantic comedy. You know from the beginning that Elliott \’s lies will come back to bit his rear in a spectacular way. And of course, they do, and he keeps getting in deeper and deeper any time he opens his mouth 😛 I really enjoyed this one 🙂 5. Horse of a Different Color What we have here is a very sweet, almost angst-free, cute romance between an outspoken omega veterinary and a shy cowboy. Archer, the omega vet, is from Texas and is missing his family and to work with something else than home pets as his speciality is large animals, which leads him to ask for a transference back home. Kohen, the shy cowboy is hoping for love but not really sure that he will ever find it. When they meet, after Kohen\’s horse gets hurt, sparks fly and maybe Archer will need to revise his decision of going back home. The story is lovely, and some of the dialogue, really hilarious. 6. When the Cat\’s Away This is a sweet second-chance story. I wasn\’t really sure about Jude at first, but he really has grown up and set his priorities straight. What I really liked here is that you can understand both characters. Why Jude did what he did, and why Andre finds difficult to trust him. Their relationship mends in a slowly and realistically way, rebuilding what they once had… but better. A very lovely romance 🙂 7. Barking up the Right Tree So sweet and lovely, and angst-free. What I enjoyed most is that, when all Brayden\’s drama comes up, they don\’t freak-out, they don\’t swear each other\’s off. They simply step a little step back, let the things cool down until Brayden come to terms with their relationship 🙂 A story that will leave you with a happy smile on your face. Now, Guillaume Dubois is hit and miss narrator for me. Sometimes, I really like his narration; other times, not so much. In general, I like it.

This bundle was superb! The stories are very believeable, enjoyable and well written. Love the atmosphere of the hospital and some of the characters that work there are a stitch! The flow and voice of the Narrator is relaxing and easy to follow. Some of the character voices were a bit over the top. Sonny particularly! A bit Too Gay for my taste but humorous none the less. I enjoyed the various stories though and Highly recommend it!

Audiobook Sunnydale Vets (Sunnydale Vets #1-7) by Austin Bates
Stories are sweet & easy–perhaps a bit too easy. I wanted the conflict to be a little more dramatic. But for just fast, easy romance, these are reliably fluffy and sweet. Sometimes the characters say their feelings in a way that\’s way too self-aware and unnatural, but it moves the stories along pretty quick. What\’s funny is there is absolutely no point in having these in an Alpha/Beta/Omega universe, but this didn\’t bother me. I found it refreshing that they are just men who happen to be alpha or omega and their entire lives aren\’t dictated by it. Don\’t go in looking for traditional ABO dynamics. It doesn\’t play a role in the stories much at all, which I appreciated. Narration is bad to the point of distraction. Absolutely none of the voices suit the dialogue/tone, sentences are stilted and awkward, and the female voices all sound like caricatures of whiny snobs despite it not suiting any of the characters. It\’s all cartoonishly bad.

Audio Sunnydale Vets (Sunnydale Vets #1-7) narrated by Guillaume Dubois
The idea of \”human\” Alphas and Omegas completely accepted as commonplace and ordinary in everyday society, whether it be a tight-knit small town in Ohio, brand name universities and big cities is novel. I liked that the main characters of each story did finally accept their love fate and married (of course, the all Omegas got pregnant first), but I found myself making comparisons to shifter mpreg stories where \”mating and marking\” of each other as fated mates (because of their unique smell only they can pick up) is the first order of business as a couple. I had no issue with the different conflicts between the main characters, BUT when the Omegas (who were highly educated all professionals) became whiney, emotionally unhinged babies (even before giving to love and becoming pregnant), that was was too over the top. The narrator\’s voices during those times in the dialogue was far too flamboyant for comfort, as was his uber-flamboyant and sing-songy Sunny voice. In general, I most like his voice for Archer and his dad (they also were my favorite characters, funny and real). The stories about the different pets in the vet clinic were amusing. I was disappointed with several areas of the stories. 1. The stories ended when there was a proposal, not all had an informative post wedding epilogue. Still I felt all of the stories left me hanging, even tough there was a \”HEA\”, Nothing about married life and parenthood. I wanted to know what became of the couples after they married. The last story did explain who was pregnant again and who had second children, but Sunny and Dale\’s son was the only child who had a storyline in one of the stories. 2. Clearly, the characters were not shifters, but they were able to easily determine who was an Alpha or Beta, and smell arousal., but I honestly missed the animal shifter aspect to provide more depth to the stories. 3.Also unlike shifter stories, no mention of Betas. What were the females in the the stories? Not quite convinced to listen to another story by this author or the narrator, unless it is his regular voice.

I am focusing on Barking Up The Right Tree in this review. Falling in love with your best friends father, probably not your best idea. Korbin is a veterinarian at Sunnydale vets . Over the Christmas holidays, he is left to watch over the clinic while it undergoes renovations. Jet owns the company doing the renovations. Korbin and Jet get to know each other and grow close to each other. Their relationship progresses to an intimate level. They are very happy together and then it all goes south. Jet’s son Braden has come home to work with his dad. Braden and Korbin have been friends for years. Korbin doesn’t realize he has fallen for Braden’s dad. Braden comes upon Jet and Korbin engaged in a hot kiss. . Braden feels betrayed. Will Braden’s feelings of betrayal keep Korbin and Jet apart? Will their love for each other be enough to overcome those feelings of betrayal? The interactions between the alphas and the omega’s in the Sunnydale Vets stories have been so real. You are drawn into the stories and made to feel part of the family. Austin, I am so sorry to see the end of the series. Thank you for a great journey. Guillaume Dubois has brought such life to the stories. Thanks
