Being an avid reader of mysteries and court drama, I must say this was a delightful change!
Also being an 81 young senior widowed for 21 odd years I must say I enjoyed every page in this book and very sad when I finished it. I thought of recommending it , but to someone my age would be difficult because they would consider it porn whereas I think of it either living life or getting educated. I wish I had read this beautifully written book at a much younger age. Life has changed and now women are not shy about having there needs met and I feel there would be less divorce if life could be acted out and marriage was a playful romance. I hope I can find the next sequel in the library since I have a limit on what I spend on books. I will encourage both my granddaughters to read “dirty rowdy thing”. One is newly married and one will be married in Oct. Forgive my rambling but I admit it was a picker-upper in my quiet life and brought back many happy memories! Thank you!

FINAL DECISION: The story was okay, but didn’t grab me. I got tired of the characters who seemed to be stuck in a neutral position for most of the book. Just an okay read overall.
THE STORY: A crazy weekend in Vegas celebrating college graduation becomes something more when Mia Holland ends up following her one night stand to Paris. The summer spent with Ansel Guillaume is completely different from what the dutiful Mia is expected to do. But as the weeks of summer count down, Mia has to ask herself whether there is something between them that is worth fighting for.
OPINION: I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Christina Lauren until this book. This one was only okay for me. Both the beginning and ending of this book were good, but there was too much time in the middle when the characters didn’t seem to be going anywhere in their relationship.
And ultimately, I don’t know that the characters problems were really resolved. Instead, I felt like this book could have benefited greatly with an epilogue. Instead, I couldn’t help but feel that too much was left unsaid by these characters and replaced by sex. While sexual exploits are something I expect from a Christina Lauren book, I think in this book the sexual relationship was a diversion rather than something that brought the characters closer together. Perhaps because we never got Ansel’s point of view, I also felt that he remained too distant and unknowable throughout the story.
I did enjoy Mia’s journey and I was intrigued by the glimpses of her friend’s possible stories. I also liked Mia and Ansel growing in their relationship by the end.
WORTH MENTIONING: This book sets up the next two books in the series.
CONNECTED BOOKS: SWEET FILTHY BOY is the first book in the Wild Seasons series.
STAR RATING: I give this book 3 stars.

Audiobook Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons #1) by Christina Lauren
Yikes. How did this book get so many 5 star reviews? It was just one sex scene after the other — not a bad thing if the sex moves the plot forward — it didn’t. The sex was a way to avoid ever talking to each other. Why was Mia not more curious about Ansel? Just some direct questions would have made this all more believable. As it is, we have a couple who get drunk, get married, have loads of sex, live together for almost 2 months and then suddenly during a “crisis” scene the heroine realizes she knows nothing about the Hero. Well, all they had to do was talk a little bit. Some basic get to know you stuff would have resolved this. This was extremely irritating.
There was a distance between this couple that made it hard to believe in any HEA. A hot fling? Yes. A lasting relationship? No.
I just can’t recommend this book. I”m giving it 2 stars cause I finished it.

Audio Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons #1) narrated by Karen Kasche
I have read this book more than a couple times, which is a rare thing for me and a sure sign that I really liked it. Honestly, its one of those books that doesnt really get old for me. I like the whole strangers oops got married thing, but there is so much more to this book than that.
Things I liked:
I liked Mia, and Ansel, they are both really authentic believable characters. Mia is kind of delightfully awkward, she really pulled into herself after her accident, and in a lot of ways just does what is expected of her because she doesnt have any idea what else she would do after her dream died. I love how in her head she is, and how even though shes so in her head she still goes and tries to put herself out there. Its basically impossible not to want good things for her.
Ansel is the hot guy with the French accent who can sweep you off your feet over one night. But hes more than that. He listens, hes sweet, hes patient, dedicated, just likable. But what I most like about these two is how realistic they seem. They are sometimes painfully awkward with each other, after all they are strangers. Work and real life really impact this book, sometimes you read a book and your like dont these people have to pay bills, but everything is really realistic to what life is like and in a way it makes the relationship more real too. The big kicker for me in this book is the little moments, Ansel at the zoo, Mia teaching girls on the street how to dance, the two of them stumbling their way to connect, how he takes care of her when shes sick. This book is so good at giving you the feels.
Things I didnt like:
The only things I didnt like were the things you werent suppose to like, like the ex, or when they are separate from each other, or how much Mias dad is a total jerk face. So basically I liked everything.

This book was good but not so good that I would want to read the other 3 books in the series at 5.99 each. I find this quite a steep price for an e-book and the whole series would have cost 23.96 if I hadn’t got this book on offer at 99p. I have read the Beautiful series by this author a few years back and totally loved those so assumed I would also love this new series. Sadly, this wasn’t the case. If the other 3 books are ever on offer at 99p, I would purchase them but if the price remains at 5.99, I wouldn’t.
