Brooke and Mason. You know theres a character in each story or series that you think they really dont need a book written about them that would be Brooke and Mason. I read the reviews and thought wow it cant possibly be that bad. From some readers saying shes a whore and he should just leave her, but what I cant seem to figure out is how anyone could like Brooke or Mason. Their story is so convoluted and expeditious that I honestly cant tell you what these two characters could possibly offer the readers. Mason at first showed promise but then I realize what reason does he have to want more with Brooke. Its never mentioned like oh my lord the most beautiful woman I have ever seen or I love everything about her and I think shes the one. No he decides out of nowhere and off the bat that he wants more when all she wanted was sex one and done. Then theres Brooke who does nothing but work, hang out with friends, curse like a sailor, cry like a baby, have sex, think about sex, and act immaturely. Usually with characters such herself theres a reason behind her inability to get close and just have a good time. Theres no apparent reason at all. She doesnt give a clear understanding of who she is even when Mason clears the debris. Then dont get me started on the sex. Every other page was some form of sex, thinking of sex, oral, petting and anything in between. I thought this book would make me laugh but it was just bad. A NA romance/ Contemporary romance not really more like erotic romance. No prude here but when an author uses sex scenes to replace substance in a book why write the book in the first place. It was like reading about a cheesy porno. Good thing it was free.

If I could give this book 1/2 a star I would. The 1/2 star would be for the picture on the cover of the book. I was extremely disappointed after I purchased this book only to find out it was about the most unlikeable character Brooke in the previous books. This is more of a stand alone book that shouldn’t be considered a part of this series. I was looking forward to reading more about Dylan & Reese after their wedding and new life, but instead the author decided to put Brooke at the forefront. I would have rather read an entire book about Joey & Billy, Juls & Ian, or even her delivery van Sam. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this trainwreck. How do you take the worst, most unbearably, unlikeable character and try to put her on display, as if I’d want to read about her sexcapades or her pathetic existence? Not interested at all. I tried to skim through this book but gave up on it. I wish I could get my $4.99 back.. this book wasn’t worth two pennies to rub together.

Audiobook Sweet Obsession (Sweet Addiction #3) by J. Daniels
LOVED THIS BOOK! It was such a change up with the female being the player versus the guy and the author made it work. The writing between the two POV’s flowed so well. You were with Brooke when she was showing attitude, being forward or even “sweet” as Mason liked to say. She’s probably my favorite heroine in awhile and can’t recall the last time I read a book this quickly, laughed out loud this much or fanned myself nonstop. And Mason, the Aussie? …. sigh- his accent came across loud and strong. “Yeah”!!! Loved each and every time he said this too. What a charming male character! He wanted to go slowly but did this make him weak? No Way! He was strong and had to be because she really tempted him in every way. While she may have come on strongly, he was definitely in the drivers seat a lot of the time.
I highly recommend this book and now I’m going back to read the first two. I didn’t read them first and it didn’t effect my reading this one but there are characters from those books that are in this one. AND! Can’t believe I almost left Billy and Joey out of my review. Joey would probably come after me if I did- those two were side characters that added SO much fun to this story. I’m sure we all wish we had friends like those two. Have I said how much I loved is book ?:)

Oh man! I absofreakinglutely LOVED this story! When I realized it was going to be Mason’s (from the Alabama Summer series) story, I flipped out and devoured the rest of this series so I could get to his HEA. It was fast paced (but not rushed), funny, sexy, a bit dramatic, and uber-sweet.
I’ve never really been a big fan of Brooke, and I honestly still am not. Granted, I liked her more in this story than the previous ones. I liked reading how she changed from her playgirl ways, to wanting to be with just one guy. I’ve always liked the bad playboy stories, and she’s just like them, but a chick, so win-win. I loved how she’s so honest and up front about everything too.
What really stole the story for me was Mason. Sweet, charming, devoted, loving, caring, sexy, Aussie Mason. Everything that came out of his mouth was just perfect. It was sweet, dirty, sexy, witty, and oh so panty melting! I loved seeing him tread cautiously and be patient with Brooke until he won her over.
This was an excellent addition to the series (I’m hoping we’ll get Joey’s next!!)!

Well holy hotness!!!! How do i start? I loved Brooke from the first two books and i love her even more now, she is a little spit fire who will rock your world and then leave your heart on crushed on the floor if you are a man. But if you are a woman you will just love her attitude to sex and how damn confident she is about herself. Everything tilts on its axis when Mason the “yeah” guy enters. You will understand what i mean about the use of the word yeah when you read the book and how it will hit you straight in the chest. Mason is not your typical man and especially not the sort of man that Brooke meets everyday. He is intelligent, thoughtful and full of emotions and love for Brooke but it takes a fair few ups and downs to get there and i really enjoyed these. There is a point in the book that i could not believe Mason and what was happening on the pages in front of me i got really really upset and shed a few tears. It took me a bit to get over that and a few cups of tea to calm my nerves. But what i took from this book the most is the amazing writing of this author she writes beautifully and it is filled with smart fast conversations between the characters. But it is also those bits in the characters head as it is a dual POV book that touch you the most. You will laugh, cry and swoon as well as get hot under the collar reading this book.Final point i do not think i have ever had an Aussie on my book boyfriend list before with a fear of a certain animal (read the book to find out which) A 5 cupcake rating from me 🙂 and Brooke is now in my list of top female book characters ever!!! And one of the best books of 2015 for me
