Ok so this is a full length book in the Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines. It’s written well for the most part but every now and then there is a missing or wrong word in a sentence thats a little distracting. I usually don’t pay a lot of attention to that but its noticeable enough to mention. So I am a fan of Abbi Glines I have bought and read most of her books, this is good but not a favorite. It’s a guilty pleasure. Here is the reason for three stars: First, I have a pet peeve about romance novels that use the male lead’s fear of getting hurt and commitment to keep the couple apart. Now I will admit that the male lead had a recent loss that scared him into some bad decisions but sometimes it feels like that excuse is used just to have an excuse. Plus I like my fictional romance to suspend reality not shove it in my face. Second, up to this point (she gets her own book later) the main villain in this series is a twenty something year old girl named Nanette (or Nan for short). She is over the top bad and dramatic and so mean and nasty that its laughable. Everyone knows how terrible she is but the male lead hooks up with her….repeatedly (this is not a spoiler it was revealed in previous books in the series). Once again no good reason other than for dramatic effect….which is not reason enough for me. Lastly, I am aware that this is YA fictional contemporary romance, which means it reads like a soap opera, so I should expect it I guess, but there is so much angst, drama, insecurity. It gets to be a lot after a while. If you like soap opera’s, over the top reality TV shows, or Tell a Novella’s than this series is for you. This is Grant and Harlow’s story. Grant is rich, works for his dads construction company, and loves Harlow. He’s just scared to commit. Harlow is the daughter of a very famous rock star. She is a recluse, gets very nervous around guys, and has a secret that may end her relationship with Grant forever. This book is decent and there is a part two, so its a cliffhanger. It has good steamy parts and was worth the read and the price. Enjoy!

Take a Chance audiobook in series Rosemary Beach
Ok so I absolutely fell in love with Grant\’s character during Rush and Blaire\’s story, and I was really excited to read about him and Harlow but UGH the beginning of this book was just so damn disappointing for me that my heart actually sank.SPOILER ALERT: I hated the fact that not only did he sleep with Nan after taking Harlow\’s virginity but that Harlow had to hear them and it made me SICK that he had a threesome a mere day before he suddenly decided he was ready to commit to Harlow and they sleep together again. It just cheapened it somehow for me, plus he never admitted to it so Harlow gave him another chance thinking he had only been with Nan. I just really wish the threesome hadn\’t happened, it just wasn\’t necessary IMO because Nan was BAD ENOUGH. I don\’t think Grant did nearly enough groveling and I really wish Harlow had been a little less forgiving BUT I can\’t deny that towards the middle of the book as much as I wanted to stay angry over his earlier actions I just couldn\’t and instead began swooning over Grant all over again and then once again he pissed me off (no other girls this time just a stupid decision made out of fear on his part) and then I read the second book and was once again swooning. OY This book is well written and emotionally DRAINING so be prepared!

Audiobook Take a Chance by Abbi Glines
I just reread this book and it was just as good as the first time. This is Grant Carter and Harlow Manning\’s story. Grant is Rush Finlay\’s best friend and they were stepbrothers when they were younger but they have always been like brothers. Harlow is Kiro Manning\’s daughter. Kiro is the lead singer for Slacker Demon and he\’s a band member of Dean Finlay and long time friend. Harlow is also half sister to Nan, Rush\’s half sister, and Grant had a relationship with Nan. Harlow is a wonderful woman that has led a pretty sheltered life. She is the daughter of Kiro and she\’s the one he really loves. Her mother Emily was the love of his life and he\’s been pretty lost since. Emily\’s mother and Harlow\’s grandmother is the one that raised Harlow in North Carolina. She was kept pretty far away from the media and she loves to read and be by herself alot. Now that her grandmother has passed away she\’s been staying in LA until Slacker Demon went on tour and now she\’s staying in the house Kiro bought Nan in Rosemary Beach. She\’s attracted to Grant but she doesn\’t want to be with someone that had a relationship with Nan. Nan has been horrible to Harlow from day one and she does what she can to hurt others. Grant is a wonderful guy that sleeps around with women. He\’s been having a somewhat friends with benefits relationship with Nan for years and he thought he was in love with her. But Nan has a tendency to be bitter, loves attention, and is completely spoiled. She pretty much destroyed Grant\’s feelings for her. He will do anything for the people he loves but he\’s been hurt so much and when Jace died it just destroyed him more. He\’s scared of loving someone and losing them. His father doesn\’t really do emotional things and his mother is even worse. Definitely worth reading.

Audio Take a Chance narrated by Jennifer Bronstein

I Love everything that Abbi Glines write she has such a talent to write great books that want to make you cry and scream at the same Time . Cry because it is such a sweet story of Love and Forgivnis . And scream because of Nan I must say I hate that stupid b**** I somehow understand why she act the way she act . But nevertheless I want to slap her because the way she treat Harlow . I love Harlow she is soooo sweet and shy you just have to Love Her . But the best character at this book was Grant Holly Hell he was great soooo possessive and Loving . Yes he made mistakes and he blame him self for them . But as soon he understand his Feelings for Harlow he done everything to make it alright. This books was just great , read it I promise you would be disappointed
