That’s Not What Happened

I must be a morbid person because I wanted more gruesome details. But that is not the reason why I give the book three stars, but because I completely disliked Lee, the main character. I disliked her because she was weak and didnt have the guts to stand up.

Other than that, I liked all other characters. I liked the writing style, and I liked how the story was written. I even liked that the shooter didnt get a name; he was just that: the shooter. So we dont know his nationality.

I also liked the plot and the ending 🙂

The money I spent on this book was worth it.

I wanted to like this because the plot is so timely, but many of the characters seem lopsided and there are plot lines that dont end up connecting. I thought it was an excellent choice by the author to completely avoid talking about the shooter. I do wish that the ending didnt feel so rushed.

Im not much of a reader but when I bought this book I fell IN LOVE!! I read it with just two days and am wanting more! I was expecting more a gruesome story (however morbid that may sound), but it was a good drama yet touched on so many things of mental illness, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety. What almost EVERY day people go through and things that happen to everyone around them and you just never know! 10/10 would recommend

I enjoyed this book. It leads you to examine your own feelings on friendship, religious expression, and when the truth is (or isn’t necessary). Nicely written.

This book arrived today already beaten up. My daughter wants to donate it to her teacher at school, but Ill have to order a better copy from somewhere else to get a nice one for the teacher.
