The Gardens of Nibiru

Without a doubt, Richard Fox is one of the best authors I have read in years. I have read each of the entries in the Ember War Saga and I am happy to say that the series is getting better and better with each new entry. Book 5, The Gardens of Nibiru, is no exception. Fox has woven together a compelling universe with its own lore and the characters contained therein are endearing. One cannot help but grow close to the characters in the series and develop a strong sense of empathy. I appreciate the diversity of alien races introduced by Fox across the series from the noble Karigole, the devious and antagonistic Toth, and the mysterious and deadly Xaros.

I particularly appreciate Fox’s ability to weave together a story filled with exciting plot twists and turns, which all feel natural to the events being told in the series. The story progression has a natural flow to it. I also appreciate Fox’s tendency to use plot points and occurrences from past books (which seemed innocuous at the time) to help cause/advance entirely new plot points as the story progresses. It is clear that these stories are well-planned and as a reader, I love being “rewarded” for paying careful attention to detail as I read with a return to an earlier point.

I happen to be an attorney by trade, which means I, too, write for a living (though it’s not nearly as fun as writing sci-fi, I am sure). With that said, I truly appreciate reading an author who maintains the right flow, pacing, and language throughout. Fox definitely has that gift, and it’s awesome. There are some other sci-fi writers simply do not, unfortunately, and it shows in their final product. Lastly, I have to comment on how impressive it is that Fox is able to release new entries in the series within a few months of the previous.

With all of that said, please do yourself a favor and check out the Ember War Saga! I don’t think you will be disappointed at all.

Mr Fox , has done it again. He has robbed me of countless hours of sleep. This series continues to get better with each installment. The characters become more endearing with each book. Mr Fox has an uncanny ability to make a book flow perfectly without getting bogged down or going to fast to leave important details out. Did I mention how outstanding the characters are becoming. Mr Fox literally has you laughing so hard one moment your crying, and on the edge of your seat the next. The most amazing thing about this writter is that he is able to turn out such wonderful installments every couple of months. I truly ,truly hope this series dies not end for a very long time.

I love military science fiction but sometimes authors can lose sight of real character development; it might just be me but no story is complete without characters that make you care.
This book and this series gives you “real” people with the usual flaws and strengths without ever losing that edge of your seat excitement.

Great book, very charismatic characters. The plot of this series just flows along. Just went you think it’s the end another twist comes along. The series is not boring . Its exciting to read. I wake up and just have to read another chapter or more.

The scale and the scope of the adventures of The Gardens Of Nibaru are equal to no other. Not only does our band of heroes go to a planet that no one new about but it also has all the high ranking aliens that are after the destruction of earth. The story takes you on a roller coaster ride that no one knows when it will flip and be left there to die. Some of our heroes give all of themselves and more to assure the survival of earth and you wonder how can this be. You say to yourself let me take your place and finish the mission no matter what the consequences. A must read that will leave you breathless and wondering did we really make it or is this the next plight of our survival.
