The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully audiobook free

I know a bit about their story, and this was a tough read. If you have a history of a toxic relationship with someone, or have been with someone who has a full blown sex addiction- this is not the book for you. It is triggering in many ways and can fill you with false hope for someone who will not change. It makes you think this person will change and they WILL NOT. Someone who is addicted to sex and porn have a tendency to find better ways to hide it rather than get help. The fact that this man has done so many things to put their relationship and her health on danger is appalling. I understand trying to fix a relationship fr the kids, but she is the definition of co- dependance at its finest. It\’s tough to read a book written by two people who have severe issues and I think he will relapse again so I\’m not sure how he gets off writing a book about relationships. Skip it.

I can honestly say this book relates to mine and my husbands relationship to a T. Their struggles mirror our struggles perfectly. I would recommend this book to anyone who can relate to their headers for what the book includes. My only complaint is that because they are celebrities they obviously have endless outlets and finances available for therapists and rehabs. I feel like for the majority of people, the costs that are associated with therapy and rehab aren’t always attainable. The information they offer in the book is great, but as they state, without their therapists they wouldn’t be where they are. So while the book is great and they relay their insight from their therapists well, I definitely think there’s emphasis on needing interventions as well.

Audiobook The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully by Jana Kramer Michael Caussin

A celebrity couple\’s marriage advice book. Jana Kramer and Michael Caussin have been married for five years and in marriage counseling for four years. This book felt like they took notes from their LA therapists, Nashville therapists, and wrote a book to recoup the cost of counseling. If so, I am okay with putting a small dent in it for them. There is nothing in this book that has not been written in other marriage self-help books. They have a section on love languages that I just read a similar chapter in Sara Evans recently released book Born to Fly. I do respect that both authors shared painful events from their relationship to help illustrate different techniques to help discuss and move on as a married couple. I am sure it was not easy to bring these up in a very public way. If a listener of the podcast or a fan of Kramer\’s music picks up this book and can get some help with an issue in their marriage than this book was well worth it.

Audio The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully narrated by Jana Kramer Michael Caussin

The book had some excellent ideas on how to \”fight the good fight\” and obviously there has been much therapy but there wasn\’t enough depth. What is sexual addiction? Why does it happen? How does it manifest? What impact does it have on their marriage? All that was mentioned was \”it\’s a real thing\”. I found that explanation sophomoric and empty. It\’s nice that the couple is working hard to \”fight the good fight\” but if there is a sexual addiction obviously that\’s impacting the marriage and may be be the root cause of all the fights. It\’s like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I absolutely loved this book so much! I feel like I’ve gained so many tools just from reading this – in marriage and any relationship! I love that they wrote this book on their own and that you get to hear from both of them. It’s really great to see people fight for their marriage, even when dealing with really difficult circumstances!
