The Innocent: A Novel is an action and adventure literary piece. This book is the first installment in the Will Robie novel series. The author of this book is David Baldacci. He is the bestselling novelist from America. By education, he is an attorney but he chose to become a full-time writer. He has a flourishing writing career where he wrote some strong novels such as A Gambling Man. People also liked him for his One Good Deed novel.
The narration of this chapter is done by the duo of Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy. It was quite an uneven sort of a narration. The female voices seem to be miscast. The character of the FBI agent was shown with a strong but intermittent kind of a Brooklyn accent which doesn’t sound legit at all. On top of that, the different sound effects used in this audiobook are quite distracting as well.

He was regarded as a stone-cold hitman type who obeys orders without any questions asked. He was known to hit his target always. But, Will Robie might have just made the first and probably the last mistake of his life and career.
It all started with a hot that went wrong. Robie was sent to finish a target that was extremely close to home in Washington. But, there was something related to his mission that doesn’t appear to be legit at all. So, he does the unthinkable. He just rejected to kill. Robie has become a target himself now. He must run for his life from his very own people whom he used to trust a lot once.

It is a story that you will find better reading than listening. It is because of its awful narration and even worse audio production quality.
