Not only the novel is better in presentation but it is also written with an excitement that was supposed to be long gone from the series after the first ten parts. Scott Brick starts narrating the story of a man who has just lost his job in a computer-related company.

The company used to hold data of the whole city and when the data was lost the man was blamed for all of that. Now that computer expert wants to prove that he was not guilty of the crime so that he can have his job back.
All of it lands him in front of a treacherous gang that wants to kill him for some reason. The man was lucky to find Jack Reacher by his side in this time of need but both the guys don’t understand that why they selected the innocent computer expert as a target. Jack is bound to find out the truth of the matter the hard way and he is ready for it. A cyberwar is going to start soon and Reacher cannot stop it without the computer guy who himself does not know that he is important in the situation.
