This book, like the rest in this series was excellent. I’ve loved Misty’s work for years, and her “gryphon” series is among her best. In fact, I could wish for more stories from that time in her Velgarth books. But that’s neither here nor there. I just have one question for Audible, or whoever makes these decisions: Who the heck is the dude on the cover supposed to be? I think someone missed a memo somewhere, or didn’t actually listen to the book, because Silverblade, the human lead, is most certainly female! No offense to the model or anything, but he’s not passing for a young woman anytime soon with that beard! ? All in all, fantastic book, great performance by a fine narrator, but seriously, fix the cover art. Thanks!

I completely agree with the review by Paul – this cover art is atrocious! There is not a single character in the book to relate to the male figure (which was originally used for Lindsay Buroker\’s \”Shattered Past\”). And the eagle figure bears little resemblance to a gryphon. Please find a more appropriate image for this audiobook.

Audiobook The Silver Gryphon (Valdemar: Mage Wars #3) by Larry Dixon Mercedes Lackey
The story itself is okay. My main critique Audible’s rendition is with the image used as cover art. The main human character, Silverblade, is a woman. As someone who has read this book multiple times, I genuinely have no idea who that man is. That being said, if you’ve read and enjoyed the first two books in this series, you’ll probably like this one as well. I initially read this story as a teenager, back when stories written about teenagers dealing with teenage themes (having to prove oneself, getting away from overprotective parents, etc.) really appealed to me. Be warned. That is exactly what this book is. If you enjoy that, great! You’ll love this one!

Audio The Silver Gryphon (Valdemar: Mage Wars #3) narrated by Gary Furlong
Spoilers… Basically a retelling of an encounter with wyrsa that took place in the Mage Winds trilogy, stretched out over an entire book. Little to no action, and I lost all liking for the protagonists after they willingly let Ke\’Charra\’s powers be partially removed by the Heighleigh (sp).

Well read but the story isn’t on par with Black Gryphon or White Gryphon. I kept falling out of the story because it dragged.
