Enjoyed reading this, if you like magic and stories of discovering magical gifts you will like this book.
I really loved the first book in this series. I was happy to see that there were more books to follow. I enjoyed reading this 2nd book. It answered some of the questions that book 1 left me with. I am enjoying this series and look forward to book 3

After being forcibly tethered together, Emelia and Jacob must continue forward to find a path to defeat the pendragon and save their family, while navigating their now intertwined lives and emotions. There is a constant undertone of magic woven into the story, as it is used effortlessly for every day activities, to the heat of a battle to save lives. It fits to show how natural it is for all these people, and how Jacob is still learning to find his feet in this magical world. In a search for answers, Jacob and Emelia find themselves on an unexpected journey to a magical realm, looking for her mother. I cant quite put my finger on it, but there is a thread through the story that I dont trust. Someone isnt on their side, but we still dont seem to have any true indication of this by the end of the book. Overall, this felt almost like a bridge book, and that well see much more movement in the story in the next book, but it was a fun journey.
