I love Shannon Stacey and her style of writing. She writes about the things that are happening around the world in real life, loveable close nit families, good friends, and she always throws in a lot of good humor. I absolutely adored her Kowalski family series, and what a loud, loveable, and fun family that was. I wasn’t sure that she would be able to top that series, but I was sort of excited to read this new endeavor, anyway. While on the surface, the small-town New Hampshire setting is similar to that of the Kowalskis, although Stewart Mills is nowhere as idyllic as the setting was for the Kowalski Series. It’s a poor town falling on hard tiomes, and with it comes a boat load of emotional happenings. The school had to undergo some major budget cuts, and the football program was one of those programs that got the hatchet. But the Coach’s daughter, Kelly, wasn’t going to let that happen without a fight. Being a police officer, she saw the way this had affected the players, as well as her own father. They had all lost all hope and started to get into more and more trouble around town. Their grades started falling by the way side, too. So Kelly with the help of her good friends, Jen and Gretchen, set out to find ways to make the money it would take to the keep football program from going completely under. I loved watching this small run down town rally around to save the football team that meant so much to them, and the ways they came together to help keep their kids out of trouble during difficult economic times. Seeing how the former team members helped the young team guys by just being there, lending an ear and getting them to fight for their team, and then showing them all that someone really did care about what happened to them was so heart-warming. And the way everyone came together to do everything they could–yard sales, bake sales, a town fair, etc., brought tears to my eyes more than a few times. I loved the sizzling chemistry between Chase and Kelly, but the supporting characters contributed greatly to this story, too. But this is about more than just a beautiful love story, it’s a story about hard economic times, the banning together of locals to help out when they themselves, have virtually lost all hope a long time ago, and the joy of victory when they pull it all off. And just like the whole Kowalski Series; there is also a lot of very hysterical moments throughout this book, too. Shannon Stacey hasn’t disappointed me, yet. And after reading this first book of this new series, I have no doubt that this new series is going to be another great hit! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Under the Lights (Boys of Fall #1) audiobook in series Boys of Fall

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Looks like a great beginning to a small town romance series. In this one the town of Stewart Mills is rallying to save football for the local high school. Part of doing this involves bringing back some of the players from the state championship team. Right now Chase Sanders’ life is in the dumper. But when he gets the call that his high school coach needs his help, he’s immediately on his way! Coach’s daughter Kelly McConnell can’t believe that of all the players, Chase has to be the one staying with her parents. Her teenage crush that never gave her a second look. Well he’s looking now, but what will she do with him now?? Excellent read, I definitely recommend this one.

Audiobook Under the Lights (Boys of Fall #1) by Shannon Stacey

Shannon Stacey does it again! As a fan of her Kowalski series but someone who doesn’t typically enjoy sports themed romances I was a little hesitant to pick up this book. I am so glad I did! This story has the charm, humor and down to earth nature you expect from Shannon Stacey’s books. I loved the characters and the community presented to us in this book and enjoyed the relationship that developed between Chase and Kelly.

Loved every minute of the book.It reminded me so much of the old TV show that used to be on Friday Night Lights. All about small town football, and the growing up hormones of teenage kids.I would recommend this book.Looking forward to the next two books in the series.

Any book that revolves around football and small towns is a win in my book. Chase was once the star running back for his high school football team and Kelly was the girl who always had a crush on him. The team is in trouble and Kelly rally’s all the old players to come and help save the team. Of course Chase and Kelly fall for each other. This book is a sweet, romantic read. I really can’t wait for the other book to come out.
