Until Talon (Until Her/Him #9)

For me, getting lost in an Aurora Rose Reynolds romance is like taking a trip to my happy place. Her storytelling centers around those determined, devoted and a bit bossy alpha-males setting their sights on the heroine, knowing down to their bones in that moment that she is their one and then doing whatever it takes to win her heart. Reynolds calls that moment the BOOM, and it is her ability to capture the feelings of that moment and build an incredible love story around them that have me picking up her books time and time again.

Ive read and loved all the Until series books, and I was all-in on Until Talon from the moment I read the blurb. Talon was a Mayson man through and through. He knew the stories of the couples in his family, and he recognized his BOOM moment when he laid his eyes on Mia. I loved Talons persistence and how patient and gentle he was with her. I loved how despite being scared of what she was feeling thanks to some deep-rooted trust issues, Mia recognized that what she was feeling was real and very special and that this man was different. It gave her the courage to trust him and move forward. There was a suspense arc that kept things interesting, and Im really hopeful that it also laid the groundwork for a future story.

Until Talon was a light-hearted, feel good story with all of the swoony, sexy romance I love from Aurora Rose Reynolds. A bit of suspense provided just enough angsty drama to keep me tapping my Kindle without becoming overwhelmed. I was charmed from the first page, and I devoured this book in a day! Until Talon by Aurora Rose Reynolds gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Until Talon is the latest release in the Until Him series and I was so excited for this one to release. I love reading about the Boom, my heart races and at times breaks while reading these books. While I overall liked Until Talon, this seems to be my least favorite of all the Until series combined. I just couldnt fully connect with Mia and Talon like I had hoped but I did enjoy reading their story, as well as seeing some of our all time favorite characters. I just felt as though something was missing, something that would have made the Boom more significant. In any case, I am still a fan of these books and look forward to the next one to release.

I’ve read every single book written by ARR. However, this is the first time I am leaving a less than stellar review. I’ll be honest this book didn’t really do it for me. It was really slow and had no action really between the main characters. I almost felt like the sister and her future love interest were the main H and h. Their drama and chemistry outshined the main characters. The book was kinda boring and it was hard for me to finish, which has never happened with an ARR book before. Also, I feel like the books aren’t that long and I have noticed a lot more authors dragging stories out and then trying “show more of the couple” using the epilogue which is also super short and has major time jumps. I honestly feel bad writing this but I wasn’t satisfied with this book.

Aurora is an insta buy. I pre-order all her books. This is the first time I felt disappointed with one of her books.

Potential Spoilers

This whole book was about Cece and Winston. I did not feel any connection between Mia and Talon. They got together as a side note to Cece. No real issues unchanged il the end and hat too had to do with Cece. No real connection and no real turmoil or issue means dull story. Talon wasn’t even very alpha. I guess it was a good story, but compared to her other stories it was only so so.

Get ready for the BOOM! This author brings it all with this sweet story. LOVE seeing all the Mayson men loose their minds over strong women.

Talon is Nico’s son and one of 6 siblings. He has grown into a beautiful human much less drop dead gorgeous. He and Mia meet is less than ideal conditions but she wriggles under his skin from the start, Now he just has to convince HER that they are destines to be together.

Loved the humor in this one. Always fun when kids and pets are involved. We get to see not only Talon’s siblings, but a few cousins and all the Aunts and Uncles. One of the best families in bookdom. Just not a bad person in the bunch.

As always, there are more of this next Gen who will fall. Who will it be next? I’d love Mia’s sister’s story at some point as well. Great read!
