Both Walk and Duchess don’t want to have any kind of relationship with the man who is not good for Star at all. Author Chris Whitaker has a habit of adding romance in the middle of tense stories we have seen this in The Forevers and Tall Oaks. This novel also has the same situation which George Newbern narrates.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a long listen and well worth the time – Many characters but the main characters are so real. There are so many different types of relationships that take place throughout this audio-book and every one of them lent more and more authenticity to the story. Not a single person is without flaws. I felt as if I really knew these different people and understood why they made both good and bad decisions as we all do in real life situations. I appreciate the way Chris Whitaker kept the young girl in this story so real. I couldn’t help but love her personality and her loyalty to her younger brother. This was a great listen with a whole lot going on at all times. (A few mysteries, many twists and turns and how loving someone can make or break you.) I binged this one and listened all day and through the entire night. The title is perfect. I bought this book used but due to chronic migraines I was unable to read it. So grateful you had it here on Galaxy Audio for us to enjoy. As always thank you David G for yet another wonderful audio-book.
