I have read all of CD Reiss\’ books about the Drazen family in no semblance of order. The great thing about her books is that the individual novels and series about the Drazen siblings are self-contained stories and you don\’t need the background or history to follow the story. However with that said, all of the ties between those stories paint quite a spectacular picture and with the latest addition of Secret Sins, Ms. Reiss does not disappoint. The first book I read was Forbidden which followed Fiona\’s story. I fell in love with the clever writing and the mystery of the uber-wealthy Drazen family. Margie (the eldest of the Drazen children) had a prominent role in that book, and I was excited to finally have her story. I just wish there had been a lot more story. My overall review of 4 stars is only because of the huge disappointment that was discovering this book was only 4 hours long followed by the 2 hour long inclusion of Beg (the start of Johnathon Drazen\’s story). I felt CHEATED! As a rule, I do not use credits for books that are less than 6 hours. And while I loved this story, had I known it was actually more of a novella than a novel I would have waited for a sale. Let\’s talk narration. In a word: PERFECTION. Elena Wolfe, you are a master narrator. The combination of Ms. Reiss\’ writing and Elena\’s narration is a beautiful thing. As always, expertly performed rather than simply read. Be prepared for a lot of back and forth with this story. It jumps around from early 1980\’s to mid 1990\’s. The story was great, but you will feel the frustration of all the skipping. Also, expect a few satisfying sexual trysts. CD Reiss sure can write a great sex scene! Finally, as promised this book delivers one hell of a twist. I\’ll just say that the title of this book could not be more fitting. Oh, the Drazens and all of their secrets!

A young woman\’s care free fun with the band turns into a heartbreaking drama that starts to unravel when her past comes walking into her present. I was expecting a fun hot listen, but got much more. From the well written story to Elena Wolfe\’s knock out performance this is a very credit worthy find.

Audiobook Imperfect (Sins and Secret Series of Duets #1) by CD Reiss
Although the storyline went back and forwards in time a wee bit too much for me I did love the characters and the well-written plot about Margaret Drazen and the group of Musician friends she hung out with in 1982 when she was known then as Cin. It was a time of groupies, drugs, sex and rock n roll and Margie was a good girl who was besotted by two Musicians Strat and Indy and the feelings went both ways. But neither man would choose who got to be with Cin.. until one night when a visiting Musician tried to take what was theirs.. and the night of pleasure that followed was hot hot hot (m/f/m action). However, the unthinkable happened and Cin was too young for adult burdens, too insecure about her feelings for either man and their feelings for her and too naive to the consequences her actions would have.. so she walked away and was left with bitter-sweet memories. But over 10 years later a very well known face from those days came back into her life and together they uncovered the truth… and it\’s a WTF of a truth that sends you reeling. Despite the fact that this listen was meant to be 6.24 hrs in length it actually stopped at Chapter 31 – then for 1.30 hrs Chapters of Beg were included which is Johnathan Drazen\’s story which I\’d already purchased. But even though it was a short listen it packed a mighty punch and was totally pleasurable.. I just wished it was longer. Worth a credit? It was a 5hr listen and I don\’t usually like them or buy them.. however it\’s a \’safe bet\’ CD Reiss book as I love her writing skills and abilities as an Author – it\’s also narrated by a talented Narrator. So there was no dilemma for me.. YES, IMO, it\’s creditworthy no matter its length.

It sucked me in from the start. I was almost late for an appointment because I got so caught up listening to the story. Elena Wolfe was awesome! Buy this audiobook! You won\’t regret it. If you don\’t want to spend one credit on it, buy the kindle version for $2.99 and the audible narration for $1.99.

Audiobook – Narration, Elena Wolfe, Terrific! Love her Males and she\’s simply the perfect Margie. Love her story telling, inflections, the personality she gives each character – terrific audiobook! So…this story… Freaking Awesome! Now, if you\’ve never read the Songs of Submission series by CD Reiss, you\’ll enjoy this story, BUT, if you have? You\’ll be Blown. A. Way. I\’ve never read a book where I started screaming \”Oh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh!\” Just too much CD! TOO MUCH! So, my suggestion is to read The Songs of Submission series first. Start with Beg… You\’ll be hooked. Read them all! Fall into this crazy Drazen World and all of its delicious characters – seriously! It will be worth it. And read the Drazen World Novellas – because those were terrific too! Oh, and by the way, in this audiobook, it actually has \”Beg\” at the end, so of course, even though I read the series initially, I\’m starting all over in audiobook and listening to the whole thing again! And it will be worth every minute spent! Am I fan-girdling enough? Can\’t help it! One of my all-time favorite series, by an all-time favorite author!
