I absolutely loved Feels Like Home, the fifth book the Southern Bride series, by Kelly Elliott! I could not put it down. I loved every page. Feels Like Home is a wonderful love story. Each book in the series keeps getting better and better, but I think that Feels Like Home might be my favorite book in the series. Kelly Elliott has once again proven that she is an incredible story teller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Feels Like Home is a story about getting a second chance at first love. I love the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing. My favorite moments are the ones that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Feels Like Home is filled with such moments. Feels Like Home is about high school/college sweethearts and first loves, Bristol Bri Overmann and Anson Meyer. Anson Meyer is a country music superstar who left Comfort, Texas six years ago to move to Nashville to pursue a music career, and left Bristol behind. To make matters worse Anson writes an angry song Let It Burn, that immediately becomes a hit for him and instant stardom. Bri hates the song and even though she has secretly followed Ansons career, she has not listened to any of his songs. Which Anson writes expressing his feeling for her. Anson punches a reporter and his manager and record label tell him to take a break and cool off. He returns home to Comfort. The first time Anson sees Bristol she punches him in the face and walks away. Anson not only needs to repair his relationship with Bristol, but also with this father. Ansons grandmother, Ida sets them up on a date, and that changes everything for them. Anson tells Bri that he dedicated every album to her, and she never realized it and that every song is written with a guitar that she gave him. I love this quote from the first dedication, “Love is still there, deep within my heart” and this one from the last dedication, “For her….because I don’t know where I begin and she ends.” Bri is willing to make the sacrifices to be with Anson, and Anson is willing to make changes, too. I love when one of Bristol’s employees tells her that “Today’s gift is yesterday’s memory.” My favorite part was the proposal. Once again Kelly Elliott writes about strong, beautiful women and hot, sexy men, I love all her characters in the book, and I love the descriptions of the setting in Comfort, Texas. . I love that we got a love story within a love story. I love that Bris best friend, Mindy also gets her own second chance at first love. Feels Like Home is filled with bittersweet and poignant moments and the surprise plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Kelly Elliott’s stories. Feels Like Home is a wonderfully written story and I loved every moment. I especially love how the title was part of the story. I was slightly disappointed that the that details of the dress on the cover of Feels Like Home were not included in the story like the other books in the series. Highly recommend this beautifully written story. I truly love how all the epilogues in the series go above and beyond the happily ever afters. I love that this epilogue takes place several years later, so that the reader gets to see how Bri and Anson, and Mindy and Drakes lives have changed. Feels Like Home is an incredible love story.

No cliffhanger
Standalone though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
Second chance romance

I always love reading books by this author because they are light on drama and heavy on love. This book is no different. Just the right amount of angst to keep things interesting, but more focused on their love for each other.

Anson and Bristol were high school sweethearts, but then their dreams pushed them in different directions. 6 years after Anson walked away from home to achieve his dream as a country music artist, he is back to get his head on right, but not everyone is welcoming him back with open arms.

Bristol hasnt listened to a single song Anson wrote, she wants nothing to do with him after he left her and never looked back, but fate has a funny way of bringing people together.

I dont want to give too much away but if you are looking for a beautiful love story with a bit of drama and off the charts chemistry this is definitely a book you should read.

Loved it!

Audiobook Feels Like Home (Southern Bride #5) by Kelly Elliott

Feels Like Home is the 5th book in Kelly Elliotts Southern Bride Series. Anson and Bristols story is heartwarming and beautiful. Their second chance love story pulled me in from first to last page.

Both learned lessons the hard way and getting back together was not an easy feat with reporters, crazy fans and jealous exes but it was all so worth it.

Anson and Bristol have been in love since teenagers. They had big plans and big dreams until Anson gets the opportunity of a lifetime to move to Nashville to sign a record deal. Bristol couldnt easily up and leave their hometown in Comfort, Texas with no notice and they end up parting ways.

Fast forward six years Anson lands back in his hometown and it becomes evident that neither moves on and their still belong to one another. I loved their connection and intense chemistry. I loved how Anson was able to mend his relationship with Bristol as well as his father.

There is so much to love about this story and all this couple has overcome to get their HEA. Its beautifully written with the perfect amount of heat, angst and emotion.

Audio Feels Like Home (Southern Bride #5) narrated by Joseph Discher Lauren Sweet

Feel right at home with the latest instalment in the Southern Brides Series by Kelly Elliott. A title befitting the story within so much so, you will feel right at home alongside its main characters as the tea is more than drunk, it it spilled!

So far with each standalone series, we have been treated to a different flavour from the cowboy spice rack, each promising a differently unique story in their own right. With Love at First Sight, it was a rekindling of a lifelong love. Delicate Promises added a military flavour when two lovers reunited. Divided Interests brought us the butting of two heads under one roof, and most recently, Lucky in Love was a laugh-a-minute love story with a refreshing lead male many of us could relate to. Feels Like Home adds the wholesome element to the series, completing it like lemon in Earl Grey Tea.

In this book, the fifth in the Southern Bride Series, we get to meet Anson Meyer and Bristol Overmann, two new characters in this next standalone in the series. Immediately their separate introductions are interesting, as it is clear we have an impending reunion on the way, and the road to it would be fun to journey along with.

Heavily invested in the series from the previous instalments, what initially drew me to this readaside from the stunning coverwas the prospect of something a little different with one of the main characters, Anson. From the sneak peaks and teasers from Kelly on Facebook/Instagram, Anson and his guitar drew me in outside of the go-to cowboy aesthetic of a main male character. Anson had something else going for him, no matter if that would end up to be a good or bad thing, and discovering his hidden depths proved promising.

What exactly makes Feels Like Home a must read, aside from enjoying the pages from start to finish, would be the emotional pull. Kelly always manages to put a heap and then some of emotions into every book she writes, though Feels Like Home has to be up there with the rollercoaster of emotions felt as if you were the character yourself. We are well aware of grabbing the tissues for a tear-jerker of a scene/chapter but this time, youll be screaming at the pages as if trying to catch the characters attention. It is both thrilling and gripping, a delightful change of pace and dynamic for those scenes usually seen on the most brilliantly written of dramas. A scene from Passionflix would best describe the most heated of scenes in this book, and I enjoyed every moment of them.

Reading through the story, you will be pleased with the balance realism in terms of the events surrounding and involving the characters, the well-written plot/storyline, and the conclusion which for want of a word, brings a comforting ending to the story which started from two youths who had the whole world at their fingertips. This is not a story which rushes into love, or at pushing the two main characters together, but like the perfect brew, blends them together seamlessly. One of Kellys many strongpoints as an author, is this technique she continues to master with every new write she creates.

If youre a long time Kelly fan like myself, youll know how amazing she is!

Usually when reading, I find myself drawn to a specific character, able to relate to them by either their situation or them as a whole. This time, it was on a whole new level. This time, the emotion was raw. You didnt just read the emotions that described how a character was feeling, you felt it. I am in awe of how Kelly does this with an expert hand. Not every author can do this and still keep readers hooked on each word but I am proud to say, Kelly can do this with her eyes closed and still turn out a masterpiece.

Of course, there were other aspects of this book that I greatly admired other than the amazing use of raw emotion, such as the intense drive and determination of many of the characters. Anson paths the way in this book for a man going after what he truly wants, in the way he wants, no matter what the cost. Most of the time in novels, this is seen through the female main character, but this time it is Anson. A refreshing and welcome change. He might go about it in a unique way, but that is what makes the story ten time as interesting on how he finds his way back home. With Bristol, she almost runs parallel to Anson in terms of her own passion and dreams, going about it in her own way in making them happen. We are almost being given a side-by-side here of both series of events playing out, before the two words collidequite literallyback together again.

Feels Like Home far exceeded my expectations in every single amazing way, taking me down roads in which I didnt expect but was happy to follow, strapping me into the rollercoaster without a seatbelt. There is a little something for everyone in this book, weather that be the country, music, emotional or romance element, this is a wholesome love storymuch like the a pair of star-crossed loverswho have to fight for their place in this world both as individuals, and as a couple.

There was no doubt in my mind that I would enjoy this book, as I do all of Kellys books, but I did not anticipate just how much this read would impress me. Take a chance, step out of your comfort zone and straight into Comfort, Texas, with Anson and Bristol, and feel right at home.

Five stars for Feels Like Home.

Well Kelly did it again. One very beautifully written, easily read love story, with a few twists, humour and chemistry to burn your eye out. Bristol and Anson have known each other for ever. They started out as youthful love, but life and ambition got in the way. Anson gets a break to follow his dream as a country and western singer and song writer, and has to leave very abruptly. Bristol has dreams to she wants to follow and delays a little, but fate has other ideas. Roll forward 6 very lonely and unhappy years for both and fate has another thumping say in what happens. This is a total standalone book, in the series. Previous characters are not mentioned, and new ones are explored. There are trust and friend issues , intrigue and drama, but most of all there is a cracking book to explore and enjoy.
