THE ILIAD AUDIOBOOK
Homer wrote Iliad and Odyssey long ago and it was not basically in the English language so Caroline Alexander had to translate it for the fans. The characters that this book has provided to the world of literature are truly immortal. Though most of the characters die in the story their image and memories remain in our minds forever. This first epic is about the Trojan wars in which the Greeks and the Trojans participate.
THE ILIAD
Warriors like Achilles and Hector come face to face and terrifying battles are fought. Homer has described how true heroes and legends prepare for the war and then how they fight against their accursed enemies. During the war soldiers and civilians die in abundance but it does not matter in big wars because the cause is more important than the life of ordinary human beings according to Greek culture.
Iliad also has a romantic part in the form of Helen who elopes with her beloved and becomes the cause of war. The beauty of this woman was so mesmerizing that it could conquer any heart in a single glance. Dominic Keating makes the narration sound sweet when he describes the character of this one of a kind beauty i.e Helen. In the ending scenes, the major heroes die in the battle and Achilles also dies when he is shot at his heal.
