THE ODYSSEY AUDIOBOOK
If someone does not know anything about Iliad then he should get that book first and listen to the beginning of everything. The Iliad by Homer has a magical appeal in it and it can be considered as an epic that talks about brave men and thus it arouses a warrior’s spirit in us. Translated by Robert Fagles and narrated by Ian McKellen the book is even more gripping, it is about the troubles which a man faces to finally return to his homeland.
THE ODYSSEY
On his way, he confronts mythical creatures and epic battles but none could stop him from moving towards his goal. The Trojan War ended ten years ago but Odyssey has not been able to return home because he had some issue with Poseidon. The god of sea has not allowed Odyssey to step foot in his domain i.e the sea.
In Odyssey’s absence, his son has turned into a brave young lad but he hasn’t been able to solve the problems that have aroused in his father’s absence. More than a hundred suitors are waiting for Odyssey’s wife to pick a new husband for herself. Also, these men are trying to get their stronghold on the wealth of the king in his absence.

Athena who is a goddess herself comes to Odyssey’s son and asks him to go in search of his father. Athena wants to save Odyssey as she is his one true protector. The epic not only tells about wars and difficult adventures but also tells the mental strength of a man which he displays to reach his home.
