I picked up this book a few hours ago and read it straight through, unable to put it down.

I have always admired Dr. Jill Biden, but had never read anything written by her, and now I realize what a mistake that has been!

She is an eloquent, riveting writer. I ended up living her life right alongside her.

The Bidens have been through hell far too many times, for as short a time as they’ve been alive. They have endured fear, pain and unimaginable heartache; they’ve witnessed it in other people’s lives, too, and done what they can to alleviate it where they can (especially with military families) while acknowledging it (viscerally) where they can’t.

Dr. Biden offers no easy answers, but she does offer hope. There are things in life that simply can’t be “soldiered through” alone, no matter how stoic or disciplined you are. It’s unconditional, focused love that brings people through the toughest times.

But I don’t want to leave the impression that the book is a downer, although I cried several times while reading it. It isn’t. It’s a love story written by a naturally introverted woman who found herself living a life she never imagined: thrust into the spotlight, she rolled with the punches, and giving as many as she got. There are as many smiles and poignant sighs as there are tears tucked inside its pages.

It is a beautiful book told by a beautiful soul. If Dr. Biden becomes First Lady, I expect a lot more people will discover her essence and end up loving her as much as I do now since reading Where the Light Enters. Bravo!

It is a true and realistic account of family, relationships, and loss thru a mother’s eyes. Makes it a little easier to know you are not alone. I have recently lost a son. I understand the pain and loss that we experience. But life has to go on.

Audiobook Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself by Jill Biden

A beautifully written memoir that I read through in one sitting. I think that she was very honest and she gave great insight into who she is. Shes an extraordinary person. Her joys, sorrows, trials and successes are explained in thoughtful ways. However, the last few chapters were so moving and incredibly sad. I think that Jills heart is still broken. I understand, and I am with her. I think that she tried to leave it on an upbeat note, yet I hear her deep grief. I hope that in time, she will heal. I must warn readers that the last few chapters are real tear jerkers.

Audio Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself narrated by Jill Biden

I loved every second of this book. It was so interesting to learn more about the life of Jill Biden and how she came to know Senator Biden. Her ability to adapt to motherhood so effortlessly despite the circumstances is inspiring. I love how their family supports each other above all else, and she keeps her focus on keeping their family strong. These are the kind of people we need to look up to. They have character, class, and value family above all else. Our world needs more families like the Biden’s to show us the way.

I admit that I was actually inspired to eventually purchase the kindlebook version of Where The Light Enters: Building A Family Discovering Myself by Jill Biden after spotting a paperback version of this book at a university bookstore less than a mile away from my current job less than a month ago. Some of the personal details colored in this book that add to a multi-dimensional tone: her lifestyle on why she was passionately moved to balance her full-time professor career with her role of First Lady in the White House, some of the circumstances surrounding before and after when Jill Biden and Joe Biden first met, the significance of some of the situations surround their life in 1987, the first time Jill Biden met Michelle Obama, and more. My interest in politics indirectly affected my interest in this book, though I do try to balance speaking my mind politically with focusing my intent to be both wise and considerate of the political viewpoints of some of my family members who accept me for who I am even if I believe different from they do. I happen to be an American born female who was adopted by two American born adoptive parents when they were alive and were from different backgrounds. My late adoptive father was a man of Mexican and Aztec Indian descent who admitted to me when he was still alive in 2016 why he was a Trump supporter though he was open-minded enough to hear my side of why I was a Clinton supporter. My late adoptive mother was an American born woman of non-Hispanic Caucasian descent and was part French and it is the family members from my late adoptive mothers side who I have had more contact with either in facebook, person, andor cellphone. I strive to be considerate and wise in expressing my political views that may differ from some of the family members who accept me because I know that it is important to keep an open mind to political viewpoints different from my own (whether friend family coworker acquaintance, etc). However, with intent to be braver I must admit this, I still intend to vote in 2020 and am probably going to vote for whoever wins the 2020 Democratic nomination by June/July 2020 timeframe andor sooner. This kindlebook focuses more on the family side through Jill Bidens perspective though her writing gives an informative focus on a man (Joe Biden) who could eventually be an indirect andor direct pivotal part of the 2020 Democratic Presidential Race.
