This wasnt necessarily a bad book but Its not a great read either. I found the characters to be very one dimensional and a bit on the annoying side. There are many times when time seems to fly by but then they are references like they were forever ago. The epilogue is pretty much a complete summary of the book. Its very unbelievable the way the main male characters treats the female character but were supposed to catch on to the fact that he likes her. Problem is, none of it is believable. I think the story could have been developed more. The conversations between the characters often felt very elementary. Its a quick read but just not that interesting.

Becca McKenzie just wants to finish up her senior year quietly and leave it all behind. Ryan Jackson isn\’t letting her go without a fight. That means showing up everywhere, embarrassing her, egging her on and in general, making her life miserable. I loved Becca. She is the poster girl for oblivious with a capital O. Like a typical teenager, she\’s absorbed in her own world and can\’t see anything outside of her own view and even comes off egocentric and insensitive at times. She doesn\’t do it on purpose because the real Becca is actually very smart, compassionate and takes no prisoners. She has no problem standing up to people even if she\’d rather be hidden on the sidelines. However, when it comes to Ryan, Becca has blinders on and can\’t seem to get past their falling out in middle school. She only sees that guy who hurt her back then and assumes he hasn\’t changed since so she refuses to give in or trust him. Ryan was very entertaining for me. Like Becca, he reacts in the only way he can, like a teenager who throws tantrums when it comes to her. They bring out very strong emotions in one another. Ryan\’s tactics may not have been the best and he was obviously grasping at straws, but Becca is incredibly stubborn. The funny thing is that they are a lot alike in ways that are not obvious to either of them, but yet the constant antagonism continues to linger at high octane. The story and writing has a very young and fresh quality to it, being the author\’s debut book. Becca\’s personality can be frustrating, but I couldn\’t peel my eyes away from the pages because she is so passionate about her feelings, as well as wistful and sarcastic that it reminds me fondly of the teenage years. As for Ryan, I saw what Becca saw in him, as well as what she refused to see in this now grown up version. Really fun to read. I can\’t wait to find out what\’s in store for them next.

Audiobook Four Doors Down by Emma Doherty

Becca and Ryan. Too freakin funny, sweet, and cute. This is a typical high school love story, but it was done well, in its cheesy way. Becca and Ryan have been friends forever, until he ditched her in middle school. You cant blame Becca for how she treats him throughout. Although, you feel for Ryan pretty soon. This does have some flashback moments in the middle, but it wasnt written that way, more like it was incorporated in the story, but some were long, you would think it should have been a flashback. But I didnt mind it, I still kept reading. All the situations they had and how Ryan kept trying to get her attention all the time, it was so obvious to everyone except Becca. Sometimes I just wanted to yell all the her and be like oh come on, pay attention! But it was done well, so it was kind of a funny mad yell. Ryan and Jake were great, even all his friends and how they were all in on trying to get them together. Definitely took me back to the high school days. This gets 4 PIGGIES!!

Audio Four Doors Down narrated by Alex Kydd Amy Melissa Bentley

I was melting with this book. It was such a page turner. I was just waiting for some specific things to happen and it happened in the most unexpected way. I love romantic books! (I don\’t want to spoil anything since these are put to recommend for people) but whoever likes to read romantic, sappy, and some pretty sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat type of stuff then you should totally read it. Also if you read it and don\’t think it\’s what you thought then it\’s your opinion but it\’s still an awesome book.

Well, what can I say? I enjoyed reading this book. High school is a social jungle and it\’s the bane of anyones existence unless your popular. This girl is trying so hard to ignore her once best friend who is willing to annoy her to get her attention. This guy has a major crush on the girl he once humiliated when they where 12yrs. Becca and Ryan are neighbours and their mothers are best friends, plus they are 4 houses away from each other. Becca also has a boyfriend who is honestly stretchy and you really want him gone. Becca and Ryan\’s mutual friend Jason is trying to get Becca to understand Ryan. Will words fall on deaf ears, will they finally be friends…….or more? Yep. Enjoy their happily ever after unfold ans fall in love with the best friend that help them get there.
