Accidental Sire (Half-Moon Hollow #6)

The description of this plot is completely misleading. Ben isn\’t agonizing over his newly undead love. They just met. She wasn\’t changed without her permission and Ben doesn\’t feel guilty about Meagan being changed. It\’s the other way around. I wouldn\’t say this is the best of the Half-Moon Hollow books. I thought the wrap up with the villains was rushed and disjointed. But the worst part of the book was the love scene. It happened at such a tense, inappropriate time I couldn\’t enjoy it at all. I had to skip it because I was so anxiously awaiting the imminent arrival of the villain. How could they stop for nooky in the middle of danger? It was ridiculous. This book featured Jane, Gabriel and Georgie at home. There were some great scenes with them especially Georgie. There were also some good bits of Ophelia. Long time fans of the series will enjoy more cameos featuring nearly all our former heroes and heroines. On the whole Meagan was a likeable, sympathetic character and Ben was ok. I still wish the characters were a little older. I don\’t like how the series is running toward teen romance lately.

Meagan Keene is a student living in the New Dawn Residence Hall at the University of Kentucky. Following a human and vampire mixer at her dorm where Meagan is introduced by her vampire friend Ophelia to Ben, a human friend of Ophelia\’s from her home town. Meagan and Ben spend several hours talking outside of the dorm after the mixer when a freak accident occurs and Meagan is turned rather than dying from her injuries. She wakes from her turning after only a day and ends up accidentally turning Ben, who is bring flowers for her to have when she awakens from the three-day turning process, as she should have been safely unconscious for two more days. Jane Jameson-Nightengale takes Meagan and Ben, who they hope is turning and not dead, to her home in Half-Moon Hollow for supervision, training, and to prevent any more students from being accidentally turned, as well as to hopefully learn why Meagan is so different from the other vampires. As with the other Half-Moon Hollow books, complications ensue. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story with a mix of action, comedy, quirky characters, a little romance, and a good bit of snark!

Meagan thinks she has the worst story about being turned, but everyone keeps telling her they will tell her Jane\’s story later, which is indeed quite embarrassing!! Meagan might win the worst sire award though, since no one has heard of being changed that way! And man is Ben mad!! Hey, I know we decided to go out on a date last night, but instead how about we connect ourselves for eternity?!? Yeah, that\’s a bit much!! Accidental Sure had all the comedy and snark of any Jane jameson \\Half Moon Hollow book, so I find it hilarious. I find Dick and Jane to be highly amusing, and Meagan and Ben just helped that along. If you\’ve liked any of the books in these two combined series, you\’ll most likely find this one amusing also!!

Review I do love it when I get to go back and visit Half Moon Hollows. Jane and her friends always makes me laugh. Gabriel always makes me (well never mind, I will keep that to myself). This story was everything I wanted and so much more. Loved it from the beginning and pouted when it ended Why did it have to end?????? This visit starts at the University of Kentucky were Ophelia is attending college and staying at the New Dawn Dormitory catering to vamps and humans. Ben (remember him from when he was Gigi\’s boyfriend??) was dragged to the party by Jaime. Did I mention how I loved visiting with everyone from the Hollows. And boy does this book have a lot. We first meet Megan when she and Ben a flirting/talking. A freak accident later she is a vamp and it is all downhill, confusing and complicated from there. Freaky becomes downright strange and weird when she bites Ben. And now there are two. Jane is going to have her hands full fostering these two, keeping them out of trouble, teaching them the ways of the vamp, figuring out all of their idioms. Oh and did I mention there are those after Megan to use her as a guinea pig. Life doesn\’t get any better than the adventures we follow in Half Moon Hollow.

I liked the storyline and plot. Loved the inclusion of prior characters. Without providing to much of a spoiler, I didn\’t like how the main character found herself in a particularly avoidable position when the situation was at a point that all involved should have known better, but concede it was necessary for plot development. I love Molly Harper and recommend her to all my friends that read paranomal. If you haven\’t read prior Half -Moon Hallow books i suggest starting at the beginning. Readers won\’t regret it. The stories are hilarious and the relationships between characters are well developed and make you wish you had friends like Jane\’s.
