Cormoran before coming into the detective business was a soldier who had faced terrible things in his life. Seeing dead bodies and facing terrible people under odd circumstances is not new for the man. He has solved complicated cases in The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm but not like this one in which he receives the leg of a woman.
Robin gets scared because she has not seen such inhumanity in her life before. For Strike this is not the first time, he knows four people who can do such a thing. Police also get rattled after this shocking news and focuses or targets one individual who can do such a thing. For Strike, it is a stupid act to leave the other three out of sight because anyone of these four men could be the mad killer.

In the first part, Robert Galbraith told us about Strike’s past, here after a break we once again listen to something about the man’s past in Robert Glenister’s voice. The strike has to dig deep in the present and the past to get to the real criminal who has become mad in this case. Ripping off body parts is not the work of a normal human being you got to be ruthless in your mind for such a sinister deed.
Also, Robin is not helping properly in this part because she is totally out of her mind after witnessing the first gift from the killer. Scary and sensational in all aspects this little tale can garnish the weekend of the listeners excellently. For the kids it is tough to understand so at home it should be kept in the adult section only.
