It’s a teen book from the 90’s, and I’m 30 now. 🙂 It was a lot more enjoyable back in the day, but I keep the series for nostalgia. FYI: Do not start reading these thinking about the t.v. show. They are so different that they aren’t even recognizable as artistic influences. Btw amazon….can we get some more descriptive words for mood, please? Picking one word to describe a whole book is just highly inaccurate. lol

This was a great ending to the original series. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves vampire novels or vampire lore.

Wow. I’ve been enjoying the T.V, show and thought I would try the books knowing that there’s usually a difference in the storyline between the two.
Thank the Lord for television writers who’s talents supercide a horrible writer who ruined a perfectly good story.

The Vampire Diaries book series is nice for the first 3 or 4 installments even though readers feel gypped about getting only 17 chapters in each book (based on several reviews printing the same thoughts).

The story flowed nicely until the writer messed with Elena and brought in a stupid character named Shinichi. If any other readers have read book 4 on up, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Elena died. Yup. Drowned but then became a vampire. Now, the story could have just gone on from there without screwing up the main character but no.

Elena then dies again as a vampire. Um….ok. But, since you can’t kill off the main person of the entire story what are ya gonna do? that’s right bring her back yet again. How?

AS A ANGEL. Wings and all. Oh, and powers that are stronger then anyone else as well. It’s ridiculously stupid at this point. Elena has the mind of a 5 year old also but then magically gets back all her memory.

The rest of the story gets stranger and stranger as they’re trapped in a snow globe and blah blah blah.

The entire story just falls apart.

You have to go back and re-read several paragraphs to try and figure out what the heck is going on. I stuck with it most of the way through this latest part but when I was about 80% of the way thru it, I said enough.

I discontinued it and went to find another book. A GOOD book this time.
