The survivors of Hope’s Dawn are not in a good place. Jon has to get the survivors out and be ready for what comes next. Can’t wait for the next chapter in the series to see what happens.

Dead Hope audiobook Jack Zombie Series
Great storyline. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and the way the story went together. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
The part where Brooke is held captive and she is being deprived of water and she is very thirsty, is never resolved. Several times she started crying, crying and losing more water and at no point during or after her ordeal was she given water.

Audio Dead Hope narrated by Neil Hellegers
Thankfully the wait for the third book in the Dead South series wasn’t that long because we were left with a pretty brutal cliffhanger. Nearly all of the characters are in dire straits as their enemies, human and zombie alike are closing in around them, in some cases literally. One of the things I most appreciated about this book was it’s focus on Malcolm, the series’ “big bad.” There’s a lot of dimension added to his character and it’s easy to sympathize with his anger. There’s a lot of zombie head bashing, dark rooms with chains, and possibly an incredibly satisfying bare knuckle brawl.
The book does feel like it’s closing off the series’ first act. We know all the players (for now), we know why they hate each others, there’s a lot to build for both side if they wish to take down the other. I’m in for whatever is next.

Zach Bohannon, as far as I’m concerned, has kept a real, nail-digging death grip on the post-apocalyptic/zombie genre. His latest “case in point” being Dead Hope, the 3rd offering in his Dead South series. While more single character focused than his earlier, ground breaking series Empty Bodies, his intuition with story structure keeps me coming back for more, studying his style as much as losing myself in his ability to keep me driven to turn one more page, and read one more chapter.
I’ve never been disappointed with reading a Zach Bohannon novel!
