In the Ruins (Roadtrip Z #2)

First off, every one of her books needs to be about 1,000+ pages longer~!

I mean this in a flattering way…but if people will think back to “Stephen King’s” early work – such a way with dialog! That reading his (and now Her books) just made time and the pages disappear! I never learned to “speed read”, never wanted to, as I read for enjoyment. I’ve read everything Ms Saintcrow has put out on Kindle, and grabbed this and (sadly) finished it the same day I started it.

She is such a wordsmith.

These short stories are intense! Im seriously addicted to finding out what might happen next. My only sad thought is that there are 3 books out so far so that means once Ive caught up … it will be a waiting game for the next release.

A slow moving love story, a road trip with “critters.” The critters are humans that died of a flu and then turned into something like an animal. What I like best about this series is that the reader gets the point of view of multiple characters, including critters. I am looking forward to the next installment.

Book 2 is just as good as the first, and there’s a new nasty to worry about. What do people do to each other when the world falls apart? This is a must read series!

I had hoped we would progress in the story a bit more. I felt like it is being drawn out without much new added to it. It’s a good book but not sure I’m going to continue the series.
