Steel World is chapter one of the Undying Mercenaries novel series. It is written by B. V. Larson. The book is a science fiction fantasy. Larson was into arts and painting from a very young age. He developed a great interest later in art history, industrial health, creativity, and also detective work.
He is brilliant with his writing work as well and has given novels such as Edge World. He is known for writing great science fiction and fantasy novels and another top one from the author is Battle Cruiser.
The narration of this book is done by Mark Boyett. He is a fantastic narrator and as expected, he gave a fantastic performance as well.
Steel World
It was in the 20th century when the planet Earth sent transmissions, probes and started welcoming the stars from the universe. It got notices by someone unfortunately and everything changed. The Galactics with their battle fleet arrived in the year 2052. Rather than getting exterminated under a salvo of the hell-burners. The planet Earth joined their huge Empire. Cursing loyalty to our aloof alien overlords was not the only requirement for the sake of survival. We also need to have something really of some value to trade.
This is something which the neighboring planets would agree to pay their useful credits to purchase. The majority of the local worlds during the time were too clever for having a proper army.
B.V. Larson is a great storyteller. It is a beautifully written story that flows extremely well. The story was able to build quite well on itself. It will be a great listen overall especially with the performance of Mark Boyett.
