Lies We Keep (Pieces of Me #1)

This author has kept me up all night! I couldn’t put this book down. It is a mixture of suspense and romance that has made me a real fan. Jezebel is a well known author who has tried to keep herself out of the public eye as much as possible. If course, like many people she has hidden demons tucked up into that wonderful writer’s brain. Unfortunately, she also has a stalker who is getting more and more explicit in his letters to her that describe the things he wants to do to her. She is forced to hire a bodyguard and finally settled on a man who makes her mouth water in a very sexual way. The story winds along with their relationship becoming more than employer/employee and while he needs to be alert and on the job she is usually trying to divert his attention. Things come to a scary head as she really does need him to be on the job when her stalker makes his move. Really good book.

Just a warning, slight spoiler alert… The tale of Jezebel and James had me hooked from the very beginning. A romance author who thinks she is being stalked by an overzealous fan later finds out that her stalker is actually from her past before her career started. She hires James to protect her from the stalker and to warm her bed. But both of them are dealing with demons from their pasts and not sure how to move into a relationship that is more than boss and employee/bed buddies. This book will definitely keep you on your toes trying to guess what will happen next.

Oh my!! Danielle Rose what have you done to me. Lies We Keep has kept me on an emotional rollcoaster since I began chapter one.

Jezebel’s and Blakely’s (I know his name is James but I am like Jez. I like calling him Blakely) relationship is suppose to be all professional. However, when Jez sets her sights on her new bodyguard’s assests, sparks begin to immediately fly. Though Blakely keeps protecting Jez and trying to deflect her and their budding romance, love will surely, eventually conquer all.

Danielle Rose has given us great characters with so much chemistry, you will think your Kindle is on fire. The storyline is quick, fast paced and keeps you guessing in parts. The secondary character (mainly Tara) is great and I actually wouldn’t mind a series of her own. If you have never read Ms. Rose’s work, I highly recommend you get this book NOW!! I can’t wait to see where Blakely’s and Jezebel’s story leds in Truth We Bear!!

Jez and James were a great coupling, they grew into themselves and changed for the better. I lived for the suspense in this story too. The side characters helped this story as well. I can’t wait to read other books by Danielle.
