Luca Vitiello (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles #0)

I seriously thought I could not love Luca Vitiello anymore and I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! We first met Luca and Aria in Bound by Honor (BBH) and we only get Aria\’s POV in BBH. Now, we get Luca\’s POV and what a view it is. I would never have thought Luca was thinking of this or that in certain scenes that we already have Aria\’s understanding of. I always wanted to know when he knew he could feel anything at all and we get that moment. Yes!!! I could not put the book down once I started reading it. Luca was born into the mafia and would become Capo, the leader of his family crime organization. He is taught to be cruel and only love the mafia. His father is the absolute worst and it is understandable that Luca would become the tough, ruthless and cold-hearted man he grew up to be. Aria becomes engaged to Luca and his life changes once she becomes his wife. I am a huge fan of Cora Reilly\’s books and this book did not disappoint. Fans of Cora will greatly enjoy this read and I highly, highly, highly suggest readers read BBH first, but you don\’t have to because it could be read as a stand alone. I seriously love this series and can\’t wait for the next release.

This was a very good read that I liked a lot. This was \” Bound By Honor\” from Luca\’s POV. Luca was a straight killer this book was everything I expected it to be and more.The book gives us a look at his life growing with a father who was a mob boss who not only beat his sons but also his wives. Luca and Mateo\’s mother killed herself because she couldn\’t take him and the lifestyle of the mob anymore. Luca made his first kill at the age of 11. When his cousin set him and Mateo up to be killed Luca crushed his throat with his bare hands earning him the nickname \”The Vise\”. I liked that Luca refused to marry Aria until she was of age although her father and his wanted them to marry right away. Luca hated his father and how he treated his women he was an evil sadistic man who I also hated. On their wedding night Aria was scared that he would force himself on her but Luca didn\’t he was patient with her. I also liked that he was unwilling to treat her like his father treated his women. Luca knew that he needed to get rid of his father before he caused harm to Aria to hurt him he would do anything to protect her. Luca also a problem when the girl he was banging set them up so Aria could catch him with her and she set Aria up to be roofied and raped. This book also had a lot of action in it with people coming after them. This was a good read with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Finally- we get to see the events of Bound By Honor from Lucas POV. Bound by Honor was my first Cora Reilly novel and the one that catapulted me into a mafia genre obsession and an obsession with all of her books. Ive loved every single one, and Luca and Aria are one of my favorite couples- the more of their story I can have, the better! But, like many of her subsequent tales, we only got the book from Arias POV- fortunately, Luca ultimately became more forthcoming with her, so we got to know and love him as she did, and it is always a nice ride to experience the unknown with her heroine when we, too, are blocked from his POV, but I wanted to be inside Lucas head, especially after Bound by Love let us inside. So, thank you, Cora, for giving us this! Certainly, there are elements of this that are plot points repeated from BBH, but they still feel fresh because were finally understanding what Luca thought. Want to know what really happened when Luca first met Aria? When he found out he was promised to a young girl? Want to know what REALLY happened with his nasty ex that Aria witnessed the tail end of? Want to know when he first loved her? This delivers. We also get a window into Lucas background and daily life that is NEW- that we havent read before. His childhood and teenage years, his bond with Matteo, the Famiglia interworkings, the complicated feelings Luca has about his father and mother. We already know and love Luca and know how things end, but man, this made me fall in love with him more. We understand more clearly now why hes so careful with Aria, how her fear troubles him, Lucas aspirations and the limited understanding he has of love and care from his background, the pressure he feels to be strong and respected. I didnt think I could love him more, but this story made me fall even harder. And wow, how beautiful to see Aria through his eyes at this stage of their relationship. You MUST read BBH before reading this, even though it is \”Book 0\”- don\’t ruin the experience of reading BBH from soley Aria\’s POV.. Fans of that story will be enamoured. I love this series so much.

I never knew I needed to be inside Lucas head until I heard I was the boy who killed his first man at eleven. in the voice of Sebastian York! Ok maybe not that line in particular.. more like every time I heard Sebastian growl Aria. Im familiar with Sebastians work and He did not disappoint as Luca Vitiello! He did an amazing job as the rough mafioso! He delivered Lucas side of Bound by Honor perfectly and I cant imagine that anyone couldve done better! When I found out that Cora was releasing Lucas POV as a full novel, I was interested but not overly excited. WELL, I now know that ANY book written by Cora deserves all the excitement! In Luca Vitiello, She gave us everything we didnt know we were missing! More information about Lucas mother, his protectiveness for Matteo and the pain they both went through as children of in the Famiglia. We also get the behind the scenes information on certain events in Bound by Honor. I really enjoyed the extra mafia moments that came with Lucas POV! Take away: If youre a fan of Audiobooks and Cora Reillys Born in blood mafia chronicles, this one is a MUST!

He sees this, and it\’s the last thing he wants as he\’s seen it from the way his father treated his mother and how he treats his stepmother. He doesn\’t want to turn into his father. Women have fallen at his feet in the past, he\’s never had to work for the attention. So he\’s got his work cut out for himself to gain Aria\’s trust. Meanwhile the Bratva are causing problems. So Luca has his hands full. Find out how Luca fell completely for Aria.
