Mr. Corporate is another of the infamous, illustrious Misters in J.A. Huss Mister series of stand-alone novels. Each book features one of these incredibly intriguing men! Mr. Corporate sounds like a straightforward guy. He comes from a good family. He went to the best schools. His clothes and cars make his wealth obvious. He appears to have come out of the Misters scandal unscathed because he has it all. He has everything except the one thing he really wantsthe girl he met a couple days before the Misters became infamous for a crime they didnt commit.

Victoria is a hot Latina with killer curves and a prickly personality. She can turn on the charm when she needs to land a deal, but her hackles rise every time some guy tries to insinuate that shes just a girl who should know her place. She has learned to keep a wide berth from men and their controlling ways. The one person who knows what shes hiding behind all that prickliness is Weston Conrad, otherwise known as Mr. Corporate.

Weston Conrad is my favorite of the Misters so far. He is witholding a lot of information from his friends, so my opinion might change. For now, he is golden. He is a good-looking, self-made man. He is a considerate lover. He is sentimental and thoughtful. When hes not arguing with Victoria, he is confessing the sweetest, most tender emotions imaginable. He has some pretty handy survival skills too. He is a pretty dreamy guy to get stuck with on a deserted island.

Told in dual point-of-view, we get a little bit of the past and the current suspense from both Victoria and Weston. We also get a lot of brick walls from both characters that hide a lot of secrets. The sexual tension and professional competition between Victoria and Weston are palpable. Both gorgeous, both successful, and both desperately trying to hide their damaged side and their harrowing pasts from the world and each other. The best part of this story is their messy, on-off love story. They love to hate each other or hate to love one anotherit just depends on the circumstances. You cant contain that level of passion without risk of combustion. That is the passion of destiny and soul mates.

Mr. Mysterious plays a bigger role in this current book. Ms. Huss alludes to the extent of his connections and money, and she puts his character is in question. At times I questioned his loyalty to the group. Paxton Vances crazy, over-the-top reputation is balanced with a little regret, a little self-questioning, and a little fear. His story is next up in the series.

Unlike Mr. Perfect and Mr. Romantic, there are more questions than answers in Mr. Corporate. There are a few reveals, but mostly there is supposition as to who was behind the Misters initial set up, the current attacks, and why the were and are being targeted. I’d like more answers, but I think Ill have to wait for the final book in the series (Mr. Match) before I get any more of them! Meanwhile, Im going to enjoy the thrill of this suspenseful mystery. Each of the Mister books so far has had a different tone, and Mr. Corporate is all about secrets.

Ok, I’m fully invested in this series, and I have pre-ordered the next one and look forward to it. I’ve read the other reviews and agree with the criticisms (there are typos, and I agree that Victoria is pretty unlikable with all the slapping, yelling, hate-saying, and stomping off like an immature brat), but I also have a couple of issues I haven’t seen anyone else mention.

First, I don’t see how these can be described (in the titles, no less!) as “stand-alone” novels that can be read in any order. I’m already having to go back and check for names and facts in the earlier novels to understand stuff in the most recent one. If you just start with Mr. Corporate, you will be thoroughly lost. There are no “cliff-hangers” per se, so it’s not as bad as some series, but it is definitely a series, and it should be read in order. So, don’t be fooled there. If you’re interested in the series, start at the beginning.

SPOILER ALERT
There is a major plot hole in this book that is too big to just be left for the next book, or God forbid, just forgotten. Upon the dramatic rescue from the island, Mr. Mysterious tells our H/h couple that he was the one who tried to have them killed and set up the island attack with his mercenaries, although ultimately he apparently changed his mind and saved them. He was the one who told them to go to the island in the first place and arranged for the pilot/Five to take them there. After the big rescue, there are days of meetings and discussions where other secrets are shared and they all discuss who set them all up in the rape scandal ten years earlier. It defies belief that in all these discussions the H/h would not insist on an explanation from Mysterious about the island scenario (and how he knows what happened to Corporate’s bank accounts). Was he working for the bad guys and changed his mind? If so, why? But our (supposedly intelligent and suspicious) H/h never ask and just go on trusting him as if there isn’t a problem. Maybe this will be explained in the next book, but it makes the main characters here seem like morons in this one.

Audiobook Mr. Corporate (Mister #3) by JA Huss

After Mr Romantic, I was eager to get my hands on the next in the series and now having finished Mr Corporate I am left kicking my heels until Mr Mysterious comes a knocking. And until then I may or may not develop a drink problem because these guys are under my skin in a big way and I cant wait to see what is going on and who the heck has it in for them all over again!
I cant say that I totally liked Victoria Tori Arias in fact I didnt think much of her, for much of the book, she had a chip on her shoulder that was more than I could stand but ask me about Weston Wes Conrad also known as Mr Corporate and Im the one blushing in the cornerI loved him.
I know he might not have been everyones cup of tea with his old fashioned ways he wanted a wife to stay at home and raise kids a career is not on his horizon for his woman but like his business, everything is negotiable and Victoria had left her mark on his heart when they split years earlier and he had never really gotten over her, you will understand why I say that when you get towards the end of the story and they get to Westons home.
Victoria knows all about his past, heck she was there with him through the whole sorry affair, she stood by him when he was accused along with the other guys but they were so volatile and in a way I actually got why they called time on their relationship but they hadnt really moved on.
So when a call arrives at Victorias failing business little does she know that taking the job wont only put her in direct competition with Weston, it will also put their lives in danger.
There are so many twists and turns that I was left completely befuddled.
I mean, LiamWTF????
FiveOh yes, that is one man that I need to hear a lot more about!
Mysterious, he certainly lives up to his name.
But when push comes to shove, they are there for each other but there is a price to pay for all of them, but when is it going to be enough?
What the price is ultimately going to be is yet to be determined because with two more of the guys to get their story and fingers crossed a little something to explain exactly who Five, I am sure I may need therapy by the time the series draws to a close.
Please I beg you, pay attention, there are somemore details about the past dotted throughout the story and I have a feeling that come the end all these details are going to be vital, I think I my need a notebook!

Audio Mr. Corporate (Mister #3) narrated by Abby Craden Ryan West

Mr corporate again I like the main characters in this book. I think the plot was a little better executed,I think tori is a basket case.but again I understand her circumstance and life experiences up to that point has altered not only her but Mr corporate as we I think this character should have been called Mr romantic.

Hmmmm After a great start with Mr Perfect (book 1) I was disappointed with Mr Romantic (book 2) and This Mister didnt really help. Book 3 was a little lacklustre for me and god help me if I didnt want to reach into the book and slap Victoria.
I felt that this book concentrated too much on the secrets and tried to build up the scene for why the Misters were set up but honestly I nearly put this down but in all these years I’ve only not finished 2 books so I persevered.
Glad I did as book 4 & 5 are an improvement, but like any longer series (and this as a quintology I think counts as a longer series) theres always a bit of a lull in the middle right….
So stick with it readers as I believe better things are coming after this book
