Mr. Match is the fifth and final book in J.A. Huss Misters Series. While each book is supposed to be written so that they could be standalones, I do not feel that is the case with Mr. Match. It is not only Oliver Shrikes story; it is the culmination of the series where each prior book is tied together. I love each book and mister in this series, but Oliver is my favorite. He is the complete package; hes absolutely perfect. Its impossible not to fall in love with this mister.

Oliver Shrike takes after his father, Spencer. He is seriously chiseled, good looking, and inked up. This man also has a romantic soul like Spencer Shrike, and he is fiercely devoted to and protective of the women in his life.

I will throw everything away to keep her. Oliver

Ms. Huss artfully shows Olivers vulnerability and loneliness through a poem tattooed on his chiseled abs. Song of the Open Road reflects Oliver as trapped and yearning to be free and understood.

Katya Kalashova mysteriously reappears at a significant point in Olivers life. He doesnt see the connection because he has been smitten with the young blonde from the moment he laid eyes on her. She is scarred, scared and leads a life filled with lies. Shes one of these delicious characters who are not easily pegged in the protagonist or antagonist column until the end.

The secrets of the nefarious Silver Society are laid open as Mr. Matchs story unfolds. Through the dual narration of Katya and Oliver, readers learn of the vast number of secrets each is keeping as well as the long-reaching forces influencing and controlling their lives. Huss masterful story telling allows her to create epic, suspenseful conspiracy thrillers that are artfully woven together. She has included many secondary characters from all the books in the series in the explosive zenith of Mr. Match. She has also included little tidbits from her Rook & Ronin series and spin-offs that will delight her long-time fans.

Dont look at what you lost, look at what you have left. Oliver

Throughout most of this book, I felt the deep sadness of the characters. The sense of dread didnt tie me in knots as much as it made me feel some of the characters sense of hopelessness, but those Mrs. to the misters gave me hope. Behind every good mister is a great mistress (or sister) nudging him in the right direction.

Each book of this series has a unique flavor and flow, but Ms. Huss maintained the overall arc of the story going by revealing a little more with each new book. Mr. Match is a wonderfully satisfying series finale.

Well, it’s done. Mr. Match, the fifth book in the Mister series is here and all the questions and events and clues that have been building since book 1 finally come to a head and we get the whole story. I feel kind of bereft today that I’ve finished and there’s no more. As hard as it was to get to the end of the previous 4 books and have to wait for the next one to come out, at least I knew another would be coming, but this is it.

Mr. Match is the final book, the only book that you need to have read all 4 of the previous books before getting to this one. Oliver Shrike. I have been waiting not so patiently to get his story. I first met Oliver in Happily Ever After: A Day in the Life of the HEA when he was just five years old. The only boy of Spencer and Veronica Shrike, living with five sisters. I couldn’t wait to find out what he was going to be when he grew up, where his life would take him.

Reading the first 4 books has filled us in pretty well on how drastically Oliver’s life changed when he was just a freshman in college when he and four of his friends were accused of rape. Now, ten years later, he is still running Hook Me Up, an online dating service he started with his sister Ariel when he was just a teenager.

Katya Kalashova kept me guessing throughout this book. She’s suddenly back in Fort Collins after four years of being away. Why is she back now? Now, when each of the Misters have once again been put through the wringer, still dealing with fallout from the “fateful night” ten years ago? Is she involved with one or possibly more, of the outside forces who seem bound and determined to destroy the Misters?

I love how we are taken into Oliver and Katya’s heads with the chapters being told in alternating points of view. The flashbacks to the six months Oliver and Katya spent together were some of my favorite moments in the book. Ms. Huss writes steamy sex scenes yes, but she writes the “feels” even better. As she mentions in the EOBS, sometimes sex isn’t about the sex, it’s about the feels and let me tell you, she nails the feels perfectly.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, had me guessing at every page what was going to happen next. The twists and turns in this story left me spinning. Who is really behind The Silver Society? How do the Russians and Lucio Gori Senior fit into the whole scheme of things? Are the Misters finally going to find some peace and get their happily ever afters?

I am so impressed with how Ms. Huss kept all the details straight, and let me tell you, there’s a lot of details to remember over the course of 5 books. Once again I pictured a big white board with each of the Misters on it, with lines crisscrossing it tying each clue and scenario together. There were several characters I was glad to see big red X’s over their faces, and others I still had a question mark on until the very end.

I am anxiously looking forward to Five Aston’s book, which will come out later next year. His story is going to be one heck of a ride, I just know it!

Brilliant conclusion to the Mister series, Julie!!

Audiobook Mr. Match: A Mister Stanadlone (Mister #5) by JA Huss

This was a BRILLIANT finale to the Mister series!

I didnt really have much of a take on Oliver Shrike, AKA Mr Match, in the other books but, Ive gotta say, I loved him as a hero. He was by no means perfect, but hes definitely more mysterious than his best friend, Mr Mysterious.

I dont care that shes here to betray me. I dont care that shes made a deal with the devil. I dont care what my friends think of that. And I dont care about the consequences. I love her.

Oliver has basically been alone for a long time, and he is a man with many, many secrets. Four years earlier, he had a secret love affair with a 17YO girl. She disappeared out of his life and has now suddenly resurfaced.

I have to keep telling myself that all my choices and all my lies had a purpose that led me right to this moment in time. Right where Im supposed to be.

Katya Kalashova has plenty of secrets herself. She was forced to follow a path to keep her sister safe. All she knows is that she loves Oliver Shrike and shell take as many good moments as she can before the big game ends.

Theres no greater purpose for this life than to find the partner who understands your soul.

In this final novel, all the Misters and their loves are prominent players in pulling together all the strands to the story. However, at the centre of it is Oliver and Katyas love story. And, let me tell you, Oliver was killing me with his love, his devotion, and his beautiful words! Gah! He made my heart thump, for sure. They have a palpable connection and fantastic chemistry.

The overarching plot was intricate and clever, and also very well-written and delivered. I thought it was a super sexy, thrilling read! Top Read 2016.

Audio Mr. Match: A Mister Stanadlone (Mister #5) narrated by Jill Redfield Joe Arden

What can I say!? Omg! I loved it! So so much!! I loved Katya! The part about her sister totally shocked me! There were a lot of things in this book which I never say coming but the revelation about her sister was shocking! The last 20 chapters were incredible! The whole book had my heart racing! The mystery was the amazing! Immense! However, the relationship between Katya and Oliver was just so beautiful and sexy! I was so happy reading the epilogue! All the Misters together again. Lies brought them together but they wouldn’t be where they were if it wasn’t for those lies.

Mr Match is the last on the series and it’s his and Katyas story :

They met 4 years ago, had the time of their lives, knew they were destined for one nether but life has a way of getting in the way! She leaves, he pines, she comes back and all he’ll breaks loose while wrapping up the Mister havoc!!

Love the twists, the turns, the passion, the people, I loved everything!
