With everything happening you would think a Raven assassin/bodyguard would be the last thing on Mikas mind, but what if.. what if he is the key to everything. This book has so many wonderful scenes thanks to Corbin, the Raven, and Mikas family conflict with her sister. We get to see Mika completely embrace who she is and stand up to her sister as well as get much more information about the morrigans and the ravens. Between trying to figure out Corbin, her feelings for him, and get on the dodgeball team while fighting a secret society thats trying to open Hell this book is a quite a ride. The deepening of the mythology is long anticipated as more information comes to light each novel. The look at Lucifer was refreshing along with his interactions with Jessica, Mika, and Eisheth.

Oh how I LOVE this series!!! In this book Mika uncovers more about her Morrigan heritage, and about those behind the scenes who are after her. She still has much to learn on both fronts, but at least she’s a step closer to understanding. But by bit it appears she’s unlocking her powers. Not to mention her group is put to the test, and might be growing? From a few interesting tidbits dropped by one of her enemies, it appears people close to her were in on the conspiracy against her. Here’s hoping the remainder of her family don’t follow suit. I am truly living how Mika is becoming as strong magically as her inner strength. I for one am gleefully looking forward to seeing her in her full glory when she finally learns how to FULLY unlock all her powers. Until that time I cheer her on from the sidelines

Another amazing book in this series. Mika story grows and she is learning more about who she is and who her family is and was. Who she can trust and who she shouldnt. Has she found her Raven and can she trust him. Definite must read!!!

I love the fact that Emma Dean knows how to write strong, empowering females in her stories. All of her females are fighters. I love how in this part that another male for introduced, some questions were answered and other presented. Also that the demon is back, cant get over his character. The relationships and friendships are growing and evolving. Great book, cant wait for the next.

I could not stop reading this book. This is one of those books you want to call in sick to work so you can stay home and read. There is still several unanswered questions, but so much happened in this book I don’t feel cheated not getting the answers. It just gives me another reason to pick up the next book.
