Professor Larson is a professor of the highest caliber. True to form, this book did not disappoint. In an era where the word \”treason\” is used so often by so many, this book clearly explains what treason is, and what treason is not. The stories are fascinating and the language is clear and digestible (for lawyers and non-lawyers alike). To anyone remotely interested in this topic, you will not regret picking up this book.

What should have been a solid examination of \”treason\” is tainted by the author\’s politics. I should have known, but one is always hopeful that one can get through an entire book without stumbling over bias. This author does soft, sideways slams on one administration, casting unproved aspersions, yet doesn\’t offer a single mention of what seems to many to be seriously askew on the other side of the aisle. It\’s annoying. I wanted to learn. But this is what passes nowadays for an objective perspective. The subject and the book\’s examinations of historical episodes are interesting, which is why I give it three stars. But I can\’t get over the bias. It makes me question everything else. The author could write another book, focusing on the other side of the aisle. It would be fair if the author acknowledges that focus up front. Done properly, it would no doubt be a much longer book.

Audiobook On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law by Carlton F. W. Larson

Great book on law and history. Truly helps you understand the applications of the law; as well as, the tricky arguments of the Constitution. These books are needed in a time where people throw around terms like “treasonous” and “my Constitutional Right.” However, his political bias leaked through throughout the book putting much into question. Like many books written by academics today, it appears it was not written to educate the public (a shame) but another attack on the administration to blot it for future history. While no doubt the author is incredibly knowledgeable and highly educated, anything he writes is now cast in the shadows of political bias and emotional immaturity.
