I am not sure what James Patterson is thinking with Bookshots. Some of them are good and some, like this one, are absolutly terrible. I am not sure why it is called Private. The Storyline does not fit any other Private line. Private Office in SA can not stay open as no money – but all the other Private Offices have tons of money and the newests tech, etc. It has nothing to do anybody from private, the story has many holes, the ending is horrible, etc. If you are expecting a normal Private Story stay far away from this book… Personally I am giving up on Bookshots. I actually like the idea of good, short reads, but i wonder if James Patterson has even looked at these. He just gives them to no name writers and in that destroys the brands that he built up and also his reputation just so he can make some fast cash…. Bad decision in my opinion

Private: Gold audiobook in series Private
At 85 years old I have had my share of reading mystery/detective books and Patterson never fails to satisfy my reading pleasure. Alex Cross is a favorite with The Women’s Mystery Club a close contender.
This was one story that I read in one sitting as every moment there was action and adventure. Thank you for years of entertainment. As I was set to donate all my literature, my youngest great grand-daughter, having started out with your teen books, intercepted me. She went home with them with the promise that she would see they got to vet’s hospital as soon as she finished reading them. She’s 10 and an advise fan.

Audiobook Private: Gold by James Patterson Jassy Mackenzie
I’m surprised that James Patterson allowed his name and reputation to be associated with this book.
The storyline drew me in from the start … the plot was building, although initially I questioned the details of how the wife was so drawn to Johannesburg enough to seek information there. Then as the story neared the last few chapters … it jumps from one scene where the hero is sitting in his office. The scene is building to him hearing a “strange noise” outside as he begins to search the information left by his dead teammate. THEN the next chapter, he’s suddenly at the damsel’s hotel room, where the two of them seemingly easily subdue a trained contract killer and her husband … no lead into this part of the story at all. And … that’s the end!
I’m terribly disappointed … this is the only book of the Private series that has let me down.

Audio Private: Gold narrated by Robert Petkoff
It wasn’t a bad read at all. But it wasn’t Private. It was a good, short action mystery without a single element of Private and Jack Morgan no more than one abstract mention. Even the setup was counter-Private: a partnership of two men in South Africa.
