Um wow! Where to start… where to start. Okay lets start with the 10 great things you know you can always count on in a Detective Josie Quinn novel: (and, yes, Im going to try this without spoiling anything)
1. Lisa Regans writing is superb
2. Your heart will race, jump, sink and cry more than once while reading
3. Noah is mouthwatering and very sweet (you have to love him for the way he loves Josie)
4. Gretchen is cool
5. Working in the same town you grew up in has its advantages and disadvantages
6. Josie can function on little to no sleep
7. Josie is a badass and so is her grandma
8. Josie finds all the danger
9. Josie saves the day and gets the bad guy every.damn.time.
10. You will want to turn back to page one and start again once youre finished
I think this one might be my favorite. I always say this when I finish one of these books, but I think it might be more true this time. Save Her Soul is so raw and so emotional. At one point, I had to stop reading because I couldnt see the words through my tears. Josie is like an old friend to me now, everything that affects her, affects meand damndid it affect me this time. Im torn between wanting Josie to start therapy and not wanting her to start therapy. If she solves all of her emotional problems, what will Lisa have to write about? But at the same time, I want to see her work through all those problems. Thankfully, there are more books to come!
Save her Soul is absolutely superb. Knowing that Lisa Regan wrote this during a pandemic makes me love it more. It couldnt have been easy, especially with the emotions involved. I feel like Lisa really poured her heart into this book, and it shows. In this one, we see Josie as an insecure young woman, but we also see the growth and wisdom of an old soul. Watching her fight to overcome her past, forgive a bully who tortured her in high school, and show some good solid empathy and compassion for that same bully was awe-inspiring. Seeing her grip so tightly to the few remarkable and beautiful people who supported her in her youth, and then feeling the letdown or the loss of them when new things come to lightugh! And I cant share it because Ill spoil the book for you. Just know, its THAT GOOD. Everything about this book is so freaking good.
Save Her Soul is an awe-inspiring, extraordinary read that will make you feel angry one minute and heartbroken the next. It has all the feels AND all the action you could possibly want in a summer read!

osie Quinn is back! Again, she’s literally caught in a flood and rescuing a body that ‘s been dislodged from a home in the river. From that point on, she finds herself immersed in a cold case that has her stumped as far as who did what! Also, it’s a great idea to begin with Book 1 in order to meet Josie Quinn and see why she’s arrived at this point. Many of her demons are still in her, but now they are starting to resurface. It’s a fast paced thriller, full of action and many characters.
Lisa Regan’s character, Josie Quinn, is her best character and storyline. I haven’t been disappointed and I look forward to a continuation of this series.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Audiobook Save Her Soul (Detective Josie Quinn #9) by Lisa Regan
Lisa Regan never disappoints! This next installment in the Josie Quinn series kept me on the edge of my seat, and I read it in a days time. During unprecedented rain and flooding in Denton, a body is unearthed from its resting place with unexpected connections to Josies childhood. We travel along with Josie as she works to find out who this is and what happened to her all those years ago. I love how Regan intertwined the past and the present together between the different chapters. Another must read!

Audio Save Her Soul (Detective Josie Quinn #9) narrated by Kate Handford
Detective Josie Quinn, with help from her colleagues, must solve a cold case murderafter she finds the mummified body of a high school classmate, who vanished in 2004. Beverley Urban supposedly left town with her mother, who skipped out on her many debts. Beverly has been dead all this time, so where is her mother?
The murder storyline is a decent read, with a shoal of red herrings, plus clues and hints about the murderer. However, this is not one of Lisa Regans stronger entries in the Josie Quinn series. There are too many side stories which feature a multitude of characters from earlier books. I read the last three books, but I had problems remembering tertiary charactersin addition to a bevy of newly introduced characters. To further slow my reading, there are continuing storylines and references to past events.
Warning: There are flashbacks to 2004 when Josie was in high schooldetailing Josie Quinns memories, her relationship with the murder victim, and her love for Ray, her late husband. If flashbacks arent enough, theres a coterie of wealthy, older women who reminisce (too much, IMHO) about their rather unsavory heydays. The often intimate, personal interludes add drama (and melodrama) to the domestic subplots.
2.5 stars bumped to 3 stars.

Lisa Regan deliverys another well written story about our Favorite Character, Josie Quinn. Seems Global Warming has come to Denton, PA. Section after section of their town is being flooded. They are working with water rescue and seconds after getting an elderly woman into the boat her house washes off its foundation. As the house floats away an object wrapped in a blue tarp rises to the surface. This is the beginning of Josie Quinns newest investigation into a murder that happened while she was still in High School. She learns that the person inside the tarp is an arch enemy from her HS days, Beverly, and she is wearing Rays letterman jacket. While finding clues to solve the murder she is also experiencing some very un-Josie like behavior. To add to her discomfort she learns that she may not be Lisettes only grandchild, this further shakes her sense of self. However during the investigation she finds an odd sense of peace while speaking with a woman named Paige. I hope that Paige will make more appearances in the next Josie Quinn adventure. So while we wait for Lisa Regan to work her magic on the next book we can imagine Josie and Noah and Trout enjoying each others company.
